Electric start is a must though... for those super tiring on the side of a hill starts during a hare scramble. Dear Santa, bring me a yz250 2 stroke, rename it something badass like ninja killer 250rx, abc, fbi, cia... it would need different/softer susp, rejetting for woods riding, 18" rear wheel/tire, heavier flywheel and ELECTRIC START + kick start! Make it happen fat man!

KTM and Husqvarna are well ahead of the pack with the anti vibration system that counteracts the rotating mass. They also have electric start with the kick-start... Yamaha did release a new off-road YZ 250X for this year and when you see one of the big 4 hustle... you know it's going to hit fast! Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki are in deep trouble with regards to the r&d into the 2-stroke line. 2-Strokes are really peaking again with nothing more than frustration from 4-stroke maintenance and cost of ownership. That's why you always see year old bikes like the 450F and 250F popping up at dealerships. First valve job cues the owner and the piston burst the bubble. Still I hope to see Yamaha really digging deep ASAP before it does in fact strike another oil boom!

Why would you need to bring a 4 stroke to a shop, they're not hard to fix at all, I just rebuilt my kx250f by myself and I'm only 15

They are so much more annoying to work on because of the cams and valves. Two strokes are much easier to work on and the power to weight ratio is awesome. Two strokes are some of the best race machines, but I wouldn't dare take one on the streets everyday.

I wish one magazine had the balls to trick out (Race Ready) a YZ250 2 stroke and do cool video on it. They always do it for the weak powered 4-strokes but not for the 2-strokes!! Someone step-up to the plate!!!!

***** hahaha you're a dumb ass cause the jetting has nothing to do with it. its the gas mixture fucking idiot ass 4 joke rider think they know shit cause my bike is jetted at exacly what is susposed to be and it smokes when i mix it 40:1 or 50:1 but if i mixed it 100:1 it wouldnt smoke and it depends on your oil to cause i use to oils and one smokes more than the other

2 strokes doesnt smoke all the time when you start it will smoke a little. Espesially on winter but when engine is warmer it smokes less or doesnt smoke at all.

Actually some oils produce a bit of blue smoke like bell ray and some white like 927 ...thats why they r called smokers, not just by me... read a dirt bike mag once in a while, and try and not be so condescending
