This 2005 YZ250 had a serious case of motorcycle gut rot, although that wasn’t apparent upon first ride. Check out what we did to get her back up and running.

Hey racerx, you guys should pick one lucky winner each month to overhaul their two strokes! They just submit photos of their bike and they get the full racer x overhaul. There's lots of potentially good bikes but some people just don't have the resources to hop them up

They should start from 2000 through to 2007 and rebuild of all the manufacturers 125 & 250 two strokes and then do a shoot out for each year ! That would be unreal . . .

REALLY enjoy these vids! Dylan has a wicked riding style, it would be great to see a little more behind the scenes action of the restoration process...like more in depth shots of sprockets getting installed, tires, graphics, engine work etc as that is showing all the work put into the bike. A cost breakdown would be a fun metric too, to show guys what you can do with a clapped out bike off Craigslist on a budget (instead of handouts)= keep these coming !!!

very cool you can tell this is a pa narrow threw the woods track. my little brother actully used to race against Dylan. I was always a bike size up. I'm a little older than him. but it's awesome to see a district 5 guy making it in the pros!!!

RacerX why don't you guys take a brand new YZ 250 2-stroke, and build it for pure race? I mean, port it, pipe it, carb it, reed valve it and put loads of compression in it (like 16:1 or 17:1) and something like Racetech suspension; Then have an awesome rider race it in the 250 class! I bet you get a million hits! A properly modified and tuned 250 2-stroke will produce a legitimate 60hp and have a wide power band with tons of torque. No 4-stroke will compete with a build like that!

What a great looking bike...great bike build for the month of my birthday :) my bday was the 7th...just turned 16...blew my 125 that has 144 kit ...something with clutch possibly crank...I would love to have a yellow yamaha to be specific that bike ;) you should pick a lucky winner to win every month the bike you build

sick bike but the biggest bummer about doing a build like this is all new dirt bike parts are such a ripoff that you buy a cheap used bike but then hafta spend more than twice what you paid for it to completely rebuild and refresh it. The motocross industry hurts itself with the prices of this stuff its not worth that much!!
