2016-2017 Chevy Cruze (2nd Gen) Rostra Cruise Control Installation (# 250-9643) 2018-2019 SIMILAR

**This particular installation is for the 2016 & 2017 Cruze. The kit for the 2018 & 2019 Cruze is slightly different. It carries a different part number and has a couple more wires that need to be connected. **
Did Chevy really sell a car named the "Cruze" that didn't have "Cruise"?? Why yes, yes they did!! The Cruze L and LS models were not offered with cruise control!! The 1st Generation Cruze had an available dealer-installed cruise control kit whereby they replaced the steering wheel with one that has the cruise buttons and flashed the BCM. Unfortunately no such upgrade was made available for the 2nd Generation.
That leaves only one option for owners of cruise-less 2nd Gen owners: The Rostra aftermarket cruise control kit.
250-9643 is for 2016-17 Automatic Transmissions
250-9644 is for 2016-17 Manual Transmissions
250-9543 is for 2018-19 Automatic Transmissions
250-9544 is for 2018-19 Manual Transmissions
In this video, I show you the complete installation from start to finish, and take the car on a test drive to ensure the system functions properly. The vehicle is a 2016 model, and I will be installing kit 250-9643.

this is for the 16.5 -17 chevy cruze just a heads up on the 18-19 chevy cruze you do have to solder a wire onto the bcm as well and add another power to attach on the ignition wire...

Not including setting up the camera and all the recording, I'd say 2 hours start to finish.

did you not hook up the wire to the bcm the white/brown goes to black bcm conector

Not sure which model you're installing, but this particular one doesn't connect up anywhere to the BCM. It's literally 1 connection to switched ignition, and 2 connections to wires on the OBD II port.

so do you think that i could do this for a 2019 trax ls? do they pretty much have the same system?

YES! The part number for the Trax is 250-9640 for an Automatic Transmission, 250-9641 for a Manual. www.rostra.com/manuals/250-9640_Form5432A.pdf www.rostra.com/manuals/250-9641_Form5466A.pdf Both have the exact same installation instructions as the Cruze. The pedal bypass harness looks a bit different, as does the ignition switch connector, but installation procedure should be identical to the Cruze.
