I tried one out and found the best time was by putting the slip target at 15% and the launch at 1200. 2000 is too high and a low slip target pulls too much power That last one looked a little downhill. I put 38 pounds of air in all tires and got a 3.8 and 12.17 at almost 115 at the dragstrip.completely stock But the one I tried tried had 41k miles and 240 treadwear tires.

Your gauge in launch control IS working. It shows up until you click the performance settings. It is that little rectangle at 4:59. If you had pressed the brake hard before clicking the perormance button that little rectangle would have shown a slider going to the right until you had the brakes pressed hard enough.

Even when we figured out launch control, the gauge never worked no matter how hard we pressed the brakes.

@@1018Video Its not the brakes. At 4;59 that little launch rectangle is there I see it with the lttle green light on the right. Dont go to the performance timers after you see the rectangle but skip that step and press the brake pedal. The bar in the rectangle should start moving to the right Will not show the performance timers and the launch/ rectangle screen at the same time. Good luck

@@panero718 I had a 2016 2SS, which is the same as 2018, and it did not have RPM and slip target settings. Got my 2020 2SS and it has these settings. It’s a cool feature but you’re not missing much. Once you play with it a few times it gets old and you just launch without trying to perfect RPM and slip%. I can’t remember what the default launch RPM was on my 16. The new line lock feature is def fun though. Wish I had that on my 16.

Man you're getting better times than I do in my 2019 ZL1, the best I've ever got is 4.6 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) but thanks to watching your video I think why I've never got launch control to work is I'm not hitting the gas hard and fast enough, every time I've tried using it I've held the brakes hard but slowly floored the gas and just sat there doing a burnout.

You have to go straight to the floor with the gas quickly. Your ZL1 with a sticky tire would do 3.6 0-60mph.

Launch control is an awesome feature. I don't use it much, as I disable all the "nannies". Push and hold the button down until both icons pop up on the dash. Then it's all turned off. Burnouts and drifts galore!

I thought I had found it once but I don’t know what I did and I can’t get it again and I have the 2018 2 SS with the eight speed automatic. Yes I’m in track with the traction control on in the competitive mode. But I don’t have the menu for the launch control. Please do you have any ideas for me about what I could be doing wrong? Hmm, it should work in all LT1 powered new Camaros with automatic transmissions. Put the car in Competitive Mode and if you can't find the launch control menu just try to launch it with the instructions in this video, you don't have to be in the launch control menu to use launch control, that's just how you can set it up, you just have to be in Competitive Mode.

I have done everything you say in the video but I’m not getting the launch control menu at all and I don’t have anything in the options menu for launch control. The only way I can get it to work is to put it in the 0-60 menu then I’ll have to hit the button on the right wheel control when I take off and it will give me the 0-60 time but still no launch control menu at all in the options menu. I have tried everything and I guess it is time to take it to the dealership and see what is wrong. Thank you for your reply.

The owners manual says that there’s two choices of clusters a base one and a high end or different one. I haven’t been to the dealership yet. But I just don’t think that my cluster has it. I have heads up display and I don’t know if that’s the difference between the clusters or not yet. But I’m going to find out sooner or later. Thanks for your help.

I want to put my 18 2ss through this again but it is currently experiencing torque converter shudder. GM TSB 18 na 177 & 355. Going in shop Monday.

We plan to get an aftermarket torque converter, not sure if the 10 speed transmissions have that issue but we don't want to find out either, lol.

The torque converter shudder is due to cavitation in the transmission fluid they used. GM created a special formulation to solve this problem that I think only dealers can get. I had my fluid flushed and replaced with the new formulation and the transmission is smooth as silk now!!

@@walterstorm9221 True! There is a recall on the fluid, you can take your car to a dealership and they can look up your vin and see if your car has had the fluid flushed or not.

I call bs on gm! It's not the new fluid that fixes the issue. This fluid is just a bandaid so gm can hope they can keep replacing the fluid until the warranty runs out. Back in the day if your tranny slipped you poured sawdust into it then sold it while it wasn't slipping. GMs new fluid is basically a thicker fluid with fibers. It does not fix the misengineering!

Thanks for the video...wish I'd seen this vid a few days ago, before taking my 2019 2SS out before getting new tires and trying to get into launch control. One little detail that prevented me from getting to launch control...the owners guide says it will work in both Track and Sport modes. It doesn't...it only works in Track mode. I went out the next day and switched to track mode and got to the launch control screen. That's also where you can do burnouts.

If you quickly double-tap the traction control button, your car should go in to Competitive Mode, which then should allow you to use Launch Control. If you can't find the Launch Control menu, your car may not have that option, I don't think all of them have that option.
