You have the idea, find your rpm. Let out the clutch until you find the grab. Dont really sit there. It heats up the clutch. Then give it the gas. As your giving it gas. Don't let the clutch out slow. Get off the clutch as fast as you can. It's all in the gas after that. You want to control your wheelspin. Wheelspin until the engine can't spin the tires anymore. The rest is full throttle. Stay ahead of the grab with the throttle, but don't blow the tires off. Also try the softest suspension, but most aggressive throttle mode. You want the weight transfer and max power.

Best time was a 4.0 on my 1SS. It is not a 1LE so it is slightly lighter without the 1LE suspension compared to the SS 1LE models. I also used rev matching in track mode without traction control. Outside temperature was mid 70s with non heated stock eagle F1 tires. I did rev it just right below 2k and played around with the clutch and acceleration pedal timings to get my overall fastest time. One thing I did not consider was the No loft feature until I saw you mentioned it in your video. I am curious to see if that will yield a better time. I will update my comment if I am able to get a faster time using no lift feature. Additional info: at the time of testing, the car was still at a stock tune.

Doing a burnout depends on the tires you have. It definitely is not one size fits all. Drag Racing 101: Destroying the Myth: Tires, Water Box, VHT. There are three main tires used on the track; street, drag radials, and slicks. Street tires are not designed for burnouts because it superheats them thereby providing poor traction. Skip Barber racing school consistently has students darting back and forth on the track upon getting into the Neon's, Viper's, or Ram's in an attempt to heat up the tires, only to be told to stop by the instructors because these vehicles run on street tires. The recommendation for a street tire is to go AROUND the water box and accelerate hard to the starting line to remove any debris off the tires. Street tires also remove the traction compound, VHT, unlike slicks and a few drag radials that put down rubber. The inherit conflict/problems is people do not remove the debris off their tires by accelerating hard to the starting line and then rip up the VHT creating poor track conditions. On the opposite side of the spectrum are slicks which are designed to be heated them up. Do to the amazing traction these tires support, water is usually required to get them to spin without doing damage to the drive train. Like previously noted, slicks leave compound unlike street tires who remove it, hence why conditions can improve over a professional racing period (assuming the track temperature doesn't increase).

I really like your vlogs - and I'm old school. So I have to try and impart some wisdom on the shifting prowess I am seeing in the video. You can drop the 0-60 by at least 3 tenths by proper speed shifting. If you're doing it right, anyone watching would think you have a automatic. It's a tricky finesse tactic - more than even the launch. Believe it or not, done properly, it's less stress on the driveline. Had to say that before some ignorant expert chimes in.

@08turboSS7 ай бұрын
Tire width isnt as important as grip and dont go more than 10mm wider on any wheel, example dont put a 305 wide tire on a 9.5" wheel made for oem 285... That 20 mm extra will actually hurt acceleration. Go no wider than 295 and dont go with a short side wall either. keep it 35 to 45 mm, IE 285/40/18, 285/35/18. 30" sidewall will slow you down and lack grip as theres no sidewall compression in short tiny height tires. They look kool but thats it

@RPProductions7 жыл бұрын
From what I understand it's best to heat them up a bit (hence the short burnout demonstration in this video) but you don't want to over-do it. Massive burnouts with street tires will just hurt performance and kill your tires.
@johnnygt60397 жыл бұрын
FivepointohJerry A street tires do not warm up like a drag radial or a slick compound tire. A street tire will produce a slick type material (oil) when too much heat is applied. With that being said, I still do a quick small burnout like Riley does so the tire isn't cold.
