Best advice for shifting smoother when doing this? This is my first manual car that I’ve had for just over a year now. Whenever I’m trying to drive as fast as possible, the shifts are very jerky.
@BigClaunch4 жыл бұрын

@@zonamade3380 It definitely has improved. It’s just taken a good bit for me. Power shifting is the quickest way but I haven’t been doing that too much because I wanted to work on smoothing it out without doing that.
@DullerCrab3 жыл бұрын
@@BrianMasseyRealEstate Take it slow no need to be aggressive/fast on it if you’re still trying to get comfortable. Exaggerate and think about your shifts and take them really easy clutch in, gas off, crisp 1-2 roll back on gas as you release the clutch. 2-3 shift should be as easy as pushing the shifter forward, no need to guide it as when you push the shifter forward it will simply recenter itself and slide into 3rd gear. 4th is a simple 2 finger pull down, and you’ll need to guide the shifter into 5th you need to feel that tactile “up and to the right” feeling. 6th gear is fine just put pressure on the right side and ride the far side of the gate down so it has no opportunity to recenter itself and put you into 4th. Before you know it it’ll just be natural instincts and muscle memory and you won’t even think about it. Hope it’s going well Edit: absolutely no need to power shift or no lift shift especially if you’re still learning the car, unnecessary stress on the tranny if it’s not done perfectly well. Only time I’d recommend it is for track guys, street racing or 1/4 miles and only if you’re really comfortable with it and know what you’re doing it’s not a replacement for good shifting. Just because the car can technically take it doesn’t mean it’s good for it. Clutch in, gas off, shift, smooth off clutch and roll on gas

Was you holding the gas pedal all the way to the floor before launching?
@drivenmad2089 Жыл бұрын
Yep. When it’s in launch control mode it will hold the RPM’s for you. If it’s not in the mode that I showed in this video, then that won’t happen and it will just go to redline.
@keithcastleberry39933 жыл бұрын
So when in competative mode and clutch pressed, mashing the accelerator will not rev engine to the moon. Releasing the clutch then allows engine rpm to come up once clutch is engaged to launch???
@drivenmad20893 жыл бұрын
Yes, so once launch control is engaged, the car controls and hold the RPM at about 3,000 or so then when you dump the clutch, it controls wheel spin using traction control and throttle management. Same system Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini use, just in a manual but it’s the same principal.

Peter Bilicki you can actually. You have to be stopped and go into the performance page and you can set it.
