2016-2022 Prius Dashboard RATTLE! Fixed! 4th Gen

This annoying rattle surfaced in our 2017 Prius 4 touring a couple of months ago and has been driving us crazy. I am somewhat handy , but the thought of blindly pulling the dash apart to find the problem horrified me. Your video was EXACTLY what I needed. Its a tedious repair but your step by step instructions were clear and obviously well thought out. I got rid of the rattle and to my amazement put the dash back together with no issues. Thanks! You saved me a very costly trip to a repair shop.

Terrific video! The rattle in my 2017 Prius Prime was driving me crazy. Thanks for posting this. I had a lot of trouble removing the two retaining clips on the covers. Morozov Automotive has a video I found helpful on removing and reinstalling the retaining clips. It's for a Corolla but still applies. I ended up cutting them off and reinstalling new ones. Cost around $12.

To get the gray wire unplugged, just pop the speaker cover off and it's right there. Don't have to pull the retaining clip or anything. Very simple

Yep, the speaker gill is held in place by two very accessible clips that you just push up. Once the grill is removed, unplugging the gray wire took only a second since its tab is right there in plain view.

Thanks a million...I work at Uber 8 hours a day and this noise was driving me crazy...I didn't dare to fix it but I did and everything turned out fine thank God. I'm so happy lol

Thank you! This fixed my annoing rattle / vibration sound. I did not take out the dashboard part. Pulled it up slightly en was then able to remove the plastic antenna cover with a screwdriver an my fingers. Saved me soms extra steps en maybe messing up something

@@omaravalos9299 I just lifted up the part he is holding at 4:32 in the video. I could reach underneath the dash with my screwdriver, flip the cover loose and grabbed it with me hand

In the process of doing this on my 2022 Prius XLE. Has heads up display that makes it bit more challenging to get that panel up and out. Anyways, that cover that came loose on the car in the video, well, on my 2022, same body style, its a bigger cover and its screwed on from the factory. Has a big E on it now. That panel out, I took the car for a drive, still had the noise. Pulled the cluster, 4 screws, pulled the metal clips off those screws went into, pinched them with a plyers, reinstalled, drove and no more noise. When I put that upper panel in, I plan to better affix the short piece for the vent on the passengers side. Seems to move and make noise while I checked it out on the counter. Hope that helps out someone.
