Love your type video, Short, Good info and without dragging something simple to long. You should make a front differential fluid change video. I only found 2 and that was hard to find, so your video could become very popular. . Honda calls it Transfer Assembly Fluid change, Not front differential...lol

Thank you very much for your detailed video explanation demonstration. My car is a 2022 HONDA CRV-Hybrid. I followed your video to change the transmission oil for the first time. Only question, why is the old oil I put out colorless and the one you recommended is pink. Could it be that the wrong oil type was replaced?

This is one of the best Honda maintenance videos I have ever seen. Great job!! Question, the link to the drive click torque wrench has a different looking product than in the video. The on in the video looks more like the Amazon basics one. Just wanting to confirm that. Another quesiton, does the car have to be raised to do this work?

There is a boatload of videos for the rare differential but not found one yet for the front which I believe uses traditional gear oil? I wonder why that one is so ignored?
@OwenLucas13 күн бұрын
I believe that it is lubricated by the transmission as it is built into the transmission housing.
@eastcoastroadrunner12 күн бұрын
I did finally find a video. And found the specs on Honda repairman. The front differential is gear oil. Apparently even easier to change. I already bought the gear oil I'm changing all the fluids this weekend.

Would the front differential have to be bled?@@OwenLucas
@eastcoastroadrunner9 күн бұрын
Yes sir, every 30k just like the rear. And it does use gear oil. It is easy peasy to change out. Lower and upper bolts are up n down from each other facing forward toward the front of the car. Good to do while changing the trans fluid. I would send you a screenshots but I can't attach pictures here apparently. You can look it up.

How many miles were on your Pilot when this A6 indicator showed up on your maintenance minder? Also, could you also do a video on how to change the gear oil in the transfer cares.
@OwenLucas Жыл бұрын
I don't remember the exact moment because it did not illuminate as a warning, just when I checked the maintenance minder for the oil life is when I saw code #6. It should come up at 15k miles but the maintenance minder system has a life of its own. The transfer case is part of the transmission so changing the transmission fluid would change the transfer case as well.
@Sparkynutz81 Жыл бұрын
If the transfer case was part of the transmission why is it different fluid and different service intervals? May want to rethink your comment.
@papajo73162 ай бұрын
@@Sparkynutz81 The transfer case is not part of the transmission, it is only attached to the rear of the transmission. It takes a totally different fluid then the transmission (GL5 Gear oil) and only holds about 0.5 US qts

So the computer tells you when is time to replace de differential fluid?
@s-wave784011 ай бұрын
How often should this be changed? I have a brand new 2022 Honda passport EX-L with only 10291 miles on it. I see that my oil has got 30% left and the B6 code sign.
@OwenLucas11 ай бұрын
Honda's maintenance minder system does not generally go by mileage intervals, the computer decides when its time to change a fluid based on usage features such as age, temp, distance. To me, 10k miles seems very early for code 6 but it must be done. 30% is probably indicating oil like left. On my 21 it doesn't provide a % for any other fluid other than oil. From what I've read online, such as the Piloteers forum, the average interval for the rear diff is 30k miles and oil is 10k miles. I do my oil at 5k intervals though.

Once you reset code 6 you won’t have to do it again until it comes back on with the maintenance minder on the dashboard. You should be good for at least another 30k miles.
