I have a 2005 4Runner with the 4.7L engine. Sometimes I let the oil changes slide to around 7K miles. Even 10K one time. - ( supposed to do them every 5K) - 315K miles on the engine and I just started noticing dirty oil last week. That's why I'm here. Thinking about a flush. Never done one.

Use atf to flush engine,open oil pan and clean with diesel to remove sludge,Than put new oil.
@omt48735 күн бұрын
It would have been better to use a car with a different engine, those 3800 are pretty reliable so there probably isn’t much sludge to begin with

From 12h to 36h i drained extra 50g. Nothing else came out from 36h to 48h. I drained the oil at 100 degree after a 2h drive. By definition of kinematic viscosity is the flow time of the liquid.

Excellent. Succinct. Well designed and executed test and video of the same. Gets right to the point, without the usual "hey guys, blah, blah, blah". I almost never subscribe to channels, but will to this one as a reward for a job so well done. ps, I have seen several sites touting WD-40 as an effective tar remover, I wish it had been included even though it is not marketed as a tar remover.

I used the liquid moly engine flush on a 2005 toyota sienna. First i changed my oil with a cheap oil and filter... then i added the liquid moly i ran the engine for 30 minutes at 2000 rpm... i drained that oil and it came out jet black and thick... no chunky but very thick Then i did 5 more oil changes with cheap oil and filters.. change the oil ran it for 30 minutes drain ... you can see a huge difference each time i changed the oil... My last oil change i used a good filter and a good synthetic oil... the oil was so clean it was very hard to see it on the dip stick... even future oil changes which i did between 3000 miles and 5000 miles , the oil came out clean.. that liquid moly works

You can buy a tyre inflator kit but I've been told the tyre repairers won't repair as it's too time consuming bro clear out the foam.

I have a Gibson too. It’s been nothing but trouble since I bought the house. I’ve changed the flame sensor and it worked well for a while. Then I cleaned the sensor and it worked for a while. Now it’s acting up again. I’m confused because I get a yellow sensor light and then it turns off again. Do you think it’s safe to assume the board is bad?

On top of what you have done , you should also change an oil filter after.

I dont think the oil would get that dark after 126 miles of driving a gas engine. The additive did its job there.

@copeland722529 күн бұрын
You really don’t need to flush the oil like this unless you really push the oil change interval past ~12-15k miles depending on oil. That or you put something in the oil that really shouldn’t be in there and the engine is not damaged by it yet. Or if the engine has been sitting for a long period of time without running
@RayleighCriterion29 күн бұрын
20 minutes of idle is not enough to get the oil to maximum temperature, probably at least 20 minutes of highway driving would be necessary.
@chechnyaАй бұрын
Liqui Moly isn't a solvent based cleaner, uses a concentrated additive package to clean so you should be okay without doing a sacrificial oil change.

I lost interest in the CRV hybrid and Corolla Cross hybrid because they don't have a spare tire. I go camping and travel on mountain roads, so a spare is mandatory. The KIA Sportage hybrid, Rav4 hybrid, and the Mazda CX-50 hybrid all have spare tires.
