Like many of you, I wasn't too convinced with the exterior design of the new Audi Q7 when I first saw it on the video. But when I went to the showroom to see the Q7 in person...I must admit that I was stunned by its majestic presence, especially the intended aggression and the bold expression of the front design, the well balanced all round body shape and the phenomenal front and real day LED lights when turned on! Afterall, the Audi designers have done their research!

I wish the car is more muscular with extruding bumper, the front is just too "flat". But the interior is spot on with beautiful lines and details!

Why does this video seem very smooth? I think that the Q7 does not look bad, but here the ride hight is set to be very low. If they increase the ride height and tyre size by a couple inches, then this MUV will look more attractive.

It’s a million times better than the last one and it’s almost a winner if not for the huge overhang on the rear bumper! It has the appearance of a fat person from behind when they no longer have ankles

In my opinion, Audi has the best design language in terms of their cars being almost unibody in a way. There isn't a single spot that sticks out in most of their cars. The new A6, for example, looks absolutely terrific. I like the new, more cornered Q7 as well, except those ugly, irrelevant side panels. It ruins the almost sophisticated look of the car.

Unimpressive, VW-like body. It doesn't look like an expensive SUV. The current model looks as if it replaces this new one. The MB GL550 looks so much fresher and aggressive. And it has a better tech package even though it's already 3 years old.

I personally think, had Audi made this car the new q5, many people would accept it as beautiful. But because its a q7, this car lacks presence, boldness AMD charisma the prev gen had. That car was boss especially with the eight body kit options. Now this new version is smaller, too boxy, looks like a station wagon and all road version of Audi. To be frank, its too ugly for the car its trying to replace

I’m totally underwhelmed after months of eager anticipation. Like it or loathe it, the previous Q7 went in a different direction from the pack in terms of design. Zoom out from close up and this could be the VW or Volvo until the final shot. It seems technology is where all the money and effort seem to go, with style its poor relation. While my inner nerd likes the elements that go into the interior, I don’t like the overall look inside either. Audi is overdue for a change of styling direction but, if this is it, I’m already BORED!

Totally agree with your post. I was going to change up from a Q5 as my family has grown in the last 3 years it seemed like a natural progression. I have been with Audi for 10/12 years but I will more than likely look elsewhere. It just looks so bad I just cannot defend it.

I’m the same. I held off upgrading to the current Q7 solely because a new version had to be imminent. The Q7 was defined by the fact it had barely any straight lines; how can this ‘Etch-A-Sketch’ design be its evolution? The TT Offroad concept is much too small for me, but seeing it gave me high hopes for the Q7. Instead, they reduced the weight and increased the technology, but forgot to make it a Q7. If they make the same mistake with the next Q5, which must be coming soon, it’s goodbye Audi for me.

Yeah agreed. The only thing that'd make me buy this ugly thing is the electric hybrid version. 138mpg!? Jesus christ of Nazareth hell yes! Seriously considering it. But oh Lord walking up to the car would be so boring, but once inside you'd be smiling. I really don't think I could do this though, superficial I know but the look matters. Really matters. Love my current q7

What happened here Audi? Looks like a bloated VW Tiguan or some other VW product (nothing against VW, but their design's have never excited me). The rear end looks like Darth Vader's mask and the rest just looks like a giant Jetta station wagon. I leased a 2006 Q7 because it was different from the other SUV offerings @ the time and was looking forward to this update....the interior looks modern and I'm sure it has great technology features...but its all been wrapped up in a stodgy/stubby exterior....
