Very happy with my 2SS, driven normally it's very mild mannered. Great gas mileage, 24 mpg around town and low 30's on highway. However when you step on it , man does it go. It is a beast.

I'm a Ford & Mustang fanatic but I'm admit the 16' SS is better compared to the 5.0 I think in every aspect. Engine, tech, comfort etc. Looks are controversial since they're both beautiful imo.

I will say this is a very attractive vehicle, lots of power, nice interior even with the laughable back seat. And where it has the advantage over the Scat Pack is its Tires while being lighter so it may be a little faster than the Scat Pack.

I drove a 2016 SRT charger and 8 speed 2ss Camaro. I preferred the interior of the charger (obviously bigger) but the drive didn't do much for me. Felt to big and despite what many owners claim, I do feel the added weight and size. The Camaro felt more sporty and faster too. Not sure how much different a challenger would be, but from my test drives the Camaro is the sports car (as it should be). If I buy a Charger/Challenger it's gonna have to be a Hellcat

I literally just drove my 2016 Challenger Scat Pack home (2 hour trip) after buying it this afternoon. I've driven the 2016 Camaro 2SS and the Challenger has it beat in terms of experience and fun. I'm coming from a 2013 Charger SRT and this Scat Pack - with the "same" engine - is definitely more aggressive and the 8-speed auto trans is incredible.

I could tell right a way when you driving the Challenger that you loved the car. I really want to drive one of those cars before I kick the bucket. I had the pleasure of a short ride in the V6 and I was impressed with the power, ride and noise level. Great review of both cars. I love your new ride, the Charger keep us updated on it.

I heard this guy use to own a Dodge Neon with the reverse offset wheels sticking out, he also installed a Whale tail and stick on graphics. But now he's taking a small leap forward and is buying a Dodge Challenger that has no tail, but is a hell of a Whale! In every head to head test the Camaro smokes the Whale, and it's not close. The drivers don't matter at least in the Camaro because it's much easier to launch than miss piggy. With each using the 8 speed manumatic the Camaro is even faster because of the much faster shifting Chevy 8sp. Out at Willow Springs track here in California during production car racing which are 100% stock, off the showroom floor Camaro's, Mustangs, Challengers, Nissan 370's and a few Alpha Romeo 4c's. After the time trials to see who's on the pole, its 2016 Camaros usually in the top 4 to 6 spots with lap times of just under 5 seconds a lap faster than the 2015/2016 Mustangs while the two Alpha' who have been racing over the last six races are tucked in with the 2010 to 2015 Camaro's and 2007 to 2013 Mustangs. Mustangs anuary when new Camaros started showing up at the track it's been the first 4 to 6 spots are 2016 SS Camaros with faster lap times over the Mustangs by 4 1/2 seconds per lap. The SS's times over the Challengers is almost 10 seconds a lap...yikes! Usually the up front 16 Camaros are followed by a mixture of 2015/16 Mustangs and 2010 to 2015 Camaros followed by a mixture of 2016 Mustang GT's

+jjs4you2 Around a track is one thing, in a straight line with a good set of tires on a scat pack is another. I don't autocross my car so to me it really doesn't matter. Buy the car that brings you the most enjoyment.

The one HUGE thing the Camaro SS has over the Challenger or Charger Scat Pack is weight. An automatic SS is 3760, vs 4260 for Challenger SP, 4400 for Charger SP. 3760 is not exactly a light weight but 4260-4400 is downright overweight. Yeah they have 485hp which helps move all that weight but you're still driving a huge car. My g/f has a V6 Charger. Decent car but it ALWAYS feels like a boat. With that said, the road noise in the Camaro I'm sure is much worse and that can get annoying for sure and the back seat is really for a backpack. And paddle shifters on the auto are a letdown. You can hear the delay. That means driving in auto mode only is really the only way to drive it........if get an auto.

I'm a die hard GM fan and I have to say I like everything about the Challenger better. The only thing the Camaro is better for is performance and I don't think the difference between the two is worth losing everything better from the Challenger. If I want balls to wall performance, I'd opt to upgrade my WS6 which looks 10x better than the 6th gen Camaro anyway.
@vernonprice5986

+Kevin Lee I'm driving a Challenger right now and all I can say is that it's a basic economy car inside a sporty looking Challenger body that is so badly designed that half the interior space is unusable. The Challenger is absolutely massive, yet there's almost no back seat leg room, the trunk is not nearly as big as it could be, and you can't see the corners of the car. I don't think there's anything better about the Challenger compared to the Camaro.
@RPProductions
@RPProductions 8 жыл бұрын
+Vernon Price For a two door car I felt the back seat leg room and trunk size was fine! I can understand some of the lower trim levels looking a bit bland but once you step up into the nicer packages the small changes make a huge difference. What trim level is your Challenger?

***** I tried to put 4 adults in that Challenger YESTERDAY. It was HILARIOUSLY inadequate. My CTS-V WAGON, which is NOT AS LONG as the Challenger - and it's a fucking WAGON - has more back seat room AND more cargo space behind the back seat. that's how stupid the Challenger is. It's taller, wider and LONGER than my STATION WAGON, and it only has 2 doors and LESS back seat room and LESS rear cargo space. It's basically the most horribly designed modern car I've ever seen, and every single part of that is due to the lip service to the old Challenger, sacrificing usability for looks. And I have a base model but that's not the point. I'm not talking about the amenities, and I don't have a problem with Uconnect or the infotainment system. It's just about the fact that the Challenger is a very basic, standard type of car with a ridiculously impractical Challenger body on top of it.

Personal opinion! Dodge has more of a throwback look. Has that muscle car look that I love so much. The Camaro looks umm idk not feeling it so much road noise on the Camaro sounded horrible! The exhaust on the SS wow! 👍 low visibility. the back seat extremely tight! Dodge better space and visibility. For some of us that have a family (wife and 1 daughter) but want a car that is fun to drive dodge is a clear choice for me.

Interesting to see your thoughts since I am struggling still. The good news is I don't think there is a bad choice. For me the Camaro wins on speed and mpg which are big for me. The Chally wins on comfort and space which is also big for me. The Chally being the only muscle car IMO with the Camaro really being a sports car.
@RPProductions
@RPProductions 8 жыл бұрын
Yeah both cars are great, it came down to me actually driving both and seeing which one I enjoyed more, which happened to be the Chally. Even though on paper the SS is supposed to be slightly faster I really didn't notice a difference when both were at WOT. Add a good set of tires to a Scat Pack and it will help out A LOT!
@MojaveKY
@MojaveKY 8 жыл бұрын
It kind of freaks me out see the MPG calculator on the Chally in your video. 10 mpg is way worse than my Ram. I don't need anything that does worse than my Ram. I love my Ram btw and don't expect mpg from it. Chally definitely needs wider tires to help lay down all that power but I don't expect it to ever beat the Camaro in a race. I guess I feel like you that the Chally is the last of a breed and I could see having it forever. My Ram would probably approve of me getting a Chally lol. Thanks for the great videos and I look forward to seeing what you actually get with real cash

The new Camarro just looks like a rehash Impala. They have fucked with its look big time. Sad part is the outgoing model used to look pretty solid but it had plastic tub of an interior. The only reason I dint opt for it when I bought Dodge last year. TBH go ahead and buy a Mustang GT350. It is definitely best of the lost now with Challenger a close second.

I am also in the same boat, I have a 2012 mustang gt and I'm looking to upgrading to a 2015 scat pack or the 2016 ss. If I go for the ss I'd probably go for a 1ss though since it's a little cheaper and I can live without what the 2ss offers. But since this will be my daily driver I'm kinda leaning more towards the camaro for the fact that it gets better mpg. I know I know that someone doesn't buy these types of cars for their wonderful mpg but If I can get good gas mileage with a v8 it's a win win. I average about 14-15 mpg on the gt with 50/50 HW city driving. If anyone has a scat pack or the 2016 ss can you let me know how much your average mpg is?

+RP Productions when you have a min, go look up the 2017 "1LE" package. They will be available for the SS, & the V6..if you decide to go with the Camaro keep it in mind. The 5th gen 1LE SS was, & is well worth the extra $3500. I'm sure it will worth it on the 6th gen as well
@RPProductions
@RPProductions 8 жыл бұрын
I checked them last night actually! They should be incredible track monsters but for a daily driver it's a lot of "race car" parts if you know what I mean. If I took my car to the track often I would for sure get it but as my daily the normal SS is plenty. Also I was disappointed to see they didn't change the power output on them!
@hmackprotection1
@hmackprotection1 8 жыл бұрын
+RP Productions I hear you. They didn't change the power output on the gen 5's either, but the 1LE package literally made them over 2 seconds faster on track/corse..IMO that's what's most cool about track forced additions/package of a performance car. I.e the 16 ACR, it has the same power output as the GTS/SRT Vipers but on track/corse its 3seconds faster. The Porsche GT3RS has 80 less HP than the 911 Turbo, but on a track it runs faster lap times, etc..whichever car you go with, just keep the videos coming.
@RPProductions
@RPProductions 8 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm sure the lap times will be much better with the 1LE but I honestly don't have a use for it. I have no doubt it will be an incredibly fast car for the money!

Big American OHV V8 with lots of torque, what's not to love? The interior sucks as always with any GM product, but otherwise not bad. Of course with the Hellcat or 392 out there for the same or only slightly more, why would you waste your money...? I don't know. I wouldn't.

47 k is ridiculous ......get a used 2015 srt8 challenger and call it day
@vernonprice5986
@vernonprice5986 8 жыл бұрын
+FredMacAttack Comparing used to new pricing is the sign of an idiot. What does a NEW SRT8 Challenger cost again? Since this is a NEW Camaro. Yeah it STARTS at $50k with ZERO options. And the Camaro outperforms it because it has an underrated 455 HP (dynoing at 400 at the wheels) and weighs 800 lbs less than the Challenger. So what's ridiculous again? I'd say it's the overweight Challenger that STARTS at $50k.
@RPProductions
@RPProductions 8 жыл бұрын
+Vernon Price Dodge Challenger and Charger Scat Packs, equipped with the 6.4L Hemi (Underrated at 485 HP, more like 505HP) start right about 40k.
@FredMacAttack
@FredMacAttack 8 жыл бұрын
+Vernon Price my advice to RP is not to spend to 47k period. if he shop around he could get a 2015 srt used loaded for about 40k. i dont think either of these cars are worth buying new. but the srt 2015 is easier to get used for a better value since he looking to buy a car soon.
@vernonprice5986
@vernonprice5986 8 жыл бұрын
FredMacAttack The entire used vs new argument is retarded. If you're going to go that route get a used CTS-V for $35k and have a much nicer car in addition to one that is faster and handles better than an SRT8.
