what they didnt tell you is that the z71 with this package cost almost 47k without interest n taxes and all that jazz, but for a second truck its perfect it realistically gets 20mpg in town and 25 on the highway. iv pulled 12,000lbs with mine on a dbl axle trailer. I got a dodge cummings dually modded to hell, but for a second truck man it beats everything without a doubt and i looked at 150 chevys, dodges, fords, tacomas, tundras, s10s, rangers but this colorado its badass plus the bose stock system is outstanding and the motor is prepared for anything. a lift kit n a performance chip and its all it needs. plus small chevy trucks are running the truck game right now and im a dodge man. :) cheers to whoever buys one, btw dont get the diesel they kinda suck

Wow.. you did a great job on this review! This looks like a really nice truck with some interesting features. Hard to decide between this and the taco though.. lol. I'm even looking at the Tundra now. They are so pricey though! But I hear Toyota has had issues with their frames, rusting or something.. so I'm still looking into that. +Anthony Lopez No problem. The frame issue with Tacoma was more for the ones in northern states with a lot of snow. I got the recall letter for my Tacoma but the dealer told us it was northern vehicles only. I would still get the Tacoma over the Colorado, just because I like toyota trucks.

Honestly it is the exact same truck. You won't notice a difference. However the Tacoma is so much nicer. The GM truck is very outdated and boring on the interior.

Nice review. However, I think you made the wrong call on the dual climate control. If I'm not mistaken, single zone is all that's available on both Colorado and Canyon.

so that means only the Colorado fully boxed frame is salt resistant eh? Tacoma still uses the C Channel that's why when it's starts to rust there's not much to hold. if the chassis easily gets rust that's a very serious problem about reliability.

The Z71 is cool and all, but not worth the price in my opinion. It's tempting to step up to a full size if you are going to spend that kind of money. I opted for a 2016 Colorado WT w the V6 and towing package last month....4 door short bed, Chevy Mylink system, body colored door handles, nice rims and it still tows a good sized loaded down trailer. It may not be as badass as a modded out Z71 colorado, but still looks awesome and for someone who pays cash for vehicles, the 28,500 MSRP that I wound up getting for $26,200 with a bedliner thrown in is MUCH more palatable.

+Mr_2011 Chevy Mailbu I'm sure there are some good options for you. Either the dealer can add it on for you, or you could find one on the aftermarket.
