Using launch control, my C7 Z06 runs 11.0's. Best ET I've gotten out of it is 10.954 @ 129.22 MPH. It is 100% the way it left the factory. Literally I've done absolutely nothing to the car except wash it and put gas in it.

Yeah the A8 runs 10.95@127 stock. A 129 trap speed at the track is about what you should expect, since the motortrend testers are using a regular road and not a prepping drag strip. Not sure why this video (or your comment) is "shocking" to anyone. It's right on the money.

Yep same Idea with the Porsche GT3 and GT3RS. Those are only 4.0L Flat 6 with 500hp and no supercharger, but can also run an identical 11 flat sec 1/4 mile..

Yes, it is an NHRA track and it was plenty sticky. You could hear and see the "glue" on the tires. He was also careful to roll into it. On his third pass he decided to just floor it and the car spun briefly

Similar times to what my stock Z06 A8 (Z07) ran. I weigh about 220 and my car was fully loaded 3lz. I tried but could not break into the 10s. My trap was around 124 but did run a 127 once. Sweet car!

John K take the clear wicker off it kills trap speed. You will pick up 3-4 mph in the 1/4. It’s pointless for road or drag use it just eats up gas mileage and top end speed. However if you track your car you will love the down force it makes at triple digit speeds and it looks bad ass from behind

Not bad but take the huge Gurney spoiler off the back, you'll trap faster at around 125-126 and likely run a 10.9... Also, all domestic performance vehicles as of 2013 have a throttle-by-wire learn in the ECU and if you drive like grand ma or sainly the last 10 miles, the ECU will keep the car tuned for light driving. If you were aggressive the last 5-10 miles the ECU will learn and behave much more in a performance attitude. How long did your Z0 last? Or did you even keep it??.

He kept it for about a year never breaking a thousand miles. Has owned about ten corvettes over the years, his c5 was a 9 second daily driver about 20 years ago. Owns a bunch of cars but hasn’t had time for racing the last few years, competed in many events. At the same track back in 2001 his brand new m3 did a 13.20 in 90 plus degree heat, all the naysayers just stood there in shock.

The tires were scuffed, stock street tires even as aggressive as the Michelins should not require a smokey burnout. NOT DRAG RADIALS. Plus, this is an NHRA track, the prep was insane, there was a Challenger that snapped an axle the track was so sticky. And we informed him that he was drifting to the left. The owner has another vehicle set up for the strip, not a newb. But Hey, thanks for checking out the video.

@@camirocz It is not even close any more. New control units performing 1,000 instructions per second and millisecond shifts. No chance for a manual. Autos are only getting quicker. The ZR1 than made the quickest lap at VIR did it with the 8 speed auto. Most manual drivers have more ego than knowledge about how transmissions actially work but I digress.

An auto MIGHT win off the line but a well driven stock will win in rolls all day . I did it in my 2014 stock GT500 vs a new Hellcat auto. Put a full car on him from 60-140, started pulling farther away above that due to GT500 6 spd, aero and weight.

what did motortrend run with a stock zo6? answer that and everything will add up. you can see the tires are stock at the very beginning of the video, turn up your brightness and zoom in. MT did 126 this car was 3mph lower due to the heat/humidity. pic of timeslip is available. there were at least 25 locals there on that track day at route66 raceway which is an nhra track. these numbers aren't "ringer" numbers they are about average for this car...if anything they are conservative. use your head so you don't continue to sound like an idiot.

No one has ever hit 130 trap with a bone stock CZ Z06. 123 to 127 variability depends on level aero on the car and outside temp. For example, very little aero and 75 degrees gets possibly 127 mph

Quicker and faster mean two different things. Quick is a reference to a cars acceleration times, fast is a reference to speed as in mph in the traps. The stg 3 aero package on the Z07 package will slow the car down alot as these packages are for circuit tracks not 1/4.. warm the tires a bit more, drive "around" the water box then back in, a bit more whisps of smoke from the tires and dropping them to about 27 psi and it'll run high 10.8's or 9's at 125-127. Its 200 lbs heavier than the old ZR1 and hence why it runs no quicker except the 0-60 because there's a lazy 8 spd auto. I have seen old 2011 ZR's with nicely warmed rear rubber put down 3.1 to 3.2 sec 0-60 times, pretty damn quick. Most, 98% of racers, won't be able to run under 3 sec in a C7 Z0 on oem street rubber. The old ZR's LS9 didn't have the overheating issues, although it was still a heat soak. The old ZR can blast to 65 mph in first gear, so with some revs and nice warm rubber, 60 comes very quickly.
