@GavDetails18 күн бұрын
I'm not sure. I did not have the opportunity to clean this vehicle soon after the application. I would think there should be some kind of water repelling properties. If you want beading, you can apply a ceramic coating. It will not make the matte surface glossy.

Looks a bit watery lacking that shaving cream appearance. Any luck with adding more soap in a consecutive wash?
@GavDetails4 ай бұрын
You can add as much soap as you want. One key factor in foam production is the pressure washer. 150mL of soap and 600mL of water may provide a thicker foam. Another item to keep in mind is a thinner foam will access cracks and crevices to increase cleaning. Thicker foam does not equal more cleaning.

Was wondering if you use a fine clay towel or a decontamination towel for 6 month maintenance?
@GavDetails5 ай бұрын
A fine clay towel or scrubber ( the rag company ) can be used. I did not use one for this video and to be 100% honest, I have not used one at all on this vehicle. Upper panels still bead well, lowers are toast. Unfortunately the truck sees winter in the Midwest. The coating is now 4 years old. It should be re done this spring.

Would have been nice for you to actually show how the ratchet strap was used? It’s like you figured it out and left everyone to guess how?

If you read some of the other comments, there is a less invasive way to replace. The concept of the straps is to wrap the strap around the strut and use the ratcheting action to compress the strut to fit on the studs.

Sometimes one hit of Reset isnt enough in 'dead' areas, you need to wash and rinse 2-3 times and make sure you wash it thoroughly each time. It might have also needed an iron remover and possibly a foam of a high pH or acid depending on what conditions the car lives in (carpro lift and descale).

How does this compare to 3D HD Speed?
@GavDetails11 ай бұрын

@GavDetails thanks for the reply. Yes I've been using 3D speed and 3D 505 correction Glaze for a while and they both give great results in really quick time expecially when paired with the forced rotation Flex machine. I do a lot of one steps for car dealers here in the UK and need to reorder some more 3D Speed but I'm tempted to give the Blackfire a try for a change. I don't think Apex has ever done a video of the Blackfire.
@GavDetails11 ай бұрын
@@johnmelling9950 in my experience, stick to what works for you. I have tried some polishing products and always find myself going back to Menzerna. The blackfire is easy to work with, leaves a glossy finish and is easy to wipe off. The only other thing to factor in is cost/ size availability. I have used Rupes uno protect, it was able to correct a fair amount with a Rupes yellow wool pad.

The road salts and traffic film from winter will destroy waxes and ceramic coatings faster than anything. The undercarriage of that car is probably rusting as well with zero maintenance. A weekly wash in winter is almost mandatory.
