2016 Equinox or Terrain Transmission in Limp, P0717, Transmission Replacement

Had the fluid been exchanged in this trans. per owners manual? My wife has a 2021 Equinox I had fluid exchanged at 32,313 miles. Fluid was black. Installed Valvoline Maxlife syn. fluid. 70,508 miles had fluid exchanged again pumped 15 quarts through trans. Fluid came out black again. Started to look better after 15 quarts still not cherry red. Currently 81,520 miles on Equinox, no trans. problems. I think this trans is hard on fluid.

@robertslegers257 the fluid was pretty clean, only 50,000 klm which is 30,000 miles.

Yeah, bagging and tagging parts is mandatory for me. I am not fast like you and I can easily forget what goes where by the time I am putting stuff back together. You took on a huge task here. Very disappointing at that low mileage.
