Hydraboost brakes for the win! Great move! The oil pan is beautiful work, nicely done. As for clocking the transfer case up, have you considered just redrilling new mounting holes in the 4L60E flange, and then putting slugs in the original mounting holes? Everything seems to be moving along very well, I can't wait to see more of the project.

I remember doing a V8 swap in my '84 S10, back in the 80s.. The headers were 7 pieces, wrapped both inside and outside the frame rails, did some spaghetti looping around the steering shaft and a was a total PITA to assemble. I think I used Chevy II motor mounts from Moroso, and backed it with a built TH400.. Man that was sooo long ago.. :)

I swapped a 5.3 into a 5 speed zr2 s10. The manual transmission was absolutely going to stay no matter what! Built a bone stock engine with a cam and valve spring upgrade. I took the "easy" way out and bought engine mounts, wiring harness, radiator, and ac compressor, ac condenser, and ac hoses from current performance wiring. The oil pan is a milodon 31083 and I'm using Sanderson shorty headers. I wanted to keep the AC, so I cut a section out of the heater box to make room and used sheet metal to fill up the hole. The truck is pretty dang awesome!

Back in the day, early 90's in Orlando.. I did a 350 v8, w/ 350 trans swap in a 83 s/10, easiest way to remove & install an engine is to remove the core support. So much easier! Just a basic 4b carb set up, used Hooker super comp headers with stock cross member but just slid back to align different mounting holes. Removing the core support let me do all this by myself in around 1.5hrs. Traction was always a prob for me, even with fuel cell and 2 batt's over rear axle.. That was to be expected lol but that truck was a lot of fun!

Those transfer cases are nice in that all the guts and cases are swappable between all variants; simply replace the input shaft for the correct application. This also provides an upgrade path for the earlier model in that the chain and main sprockets are larger in heavier duty/newer applications and slip right in the original case.

Im a first gen sdime nut. Ive built a few clones with sbcs. My son turned 16 so i put his 91 witha a 4.8 in top priority. My 94 bravada with a 6.0 ty clone is in the back burner Been daily driving my 87 blazer with dana 60 axles and 36s since the days of internet forums. Before my son was born his 91 sonoma had a 3.4 out of a 94 camaro with a 3x00 swap and was single turbo. Back then building a custom FI was a major PITA. Didnt have cheap stuff off the shelf like kids do today When i built my baby 87 it was carbed. Now its holley fuel injected When i built my 91 2wd single cab it was butchered oem stuff when i was i think 24. Both had AC and heat. It aint hard to do you just gotta use the brain matter and some fiberglass on the box.

13:10 ribs on block are used to reenforce the block. I've seen tighter smaller ribs on purpose built high output blocks. Trimming what your talking about should be fine; clearances, shaving the block all the way around however, would probably pop it.

It may sound counter intuitive but, rough country lift brackets in the front lower the front diff a solid 1.5"-2". With it lowered on lowering keys in the front you end up with nearly straight CV shafts. I haven't gotten to the L's swap part yet.

A website called Jags That Run used to have a v8 swap kit for 4x4 s10's & it came with brackets to move the front axle forward a few inches so that the oil pan would fit. It gave the s10 a kind of pre runner look with the axle moved forward a few inches. You had to trim the front of the wheel opening a little bit so the tire wouldn't rub but it makes the truck look badass.
