@@kevinhuang888 yeah, the focus rs was cancelled. No new ones will sold in America or canada. Not even sure about the st focus. That may have been killed off too in america. Dont worry though.....annelectric mustang inspired suv is coming.
@2steaksandwiches6654 жыл бұрын
mitchell duchesne I get your sentiment but of it didn’t sell it make sense. Face it the world is going to blobby SUVs. Cars like this will be collector cars in 10 plus years. I will say I put my money where my mouth is and bought a new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio because I kinda feel like cars like these types are gonna go extinct so might as well buy and drive now.
@MrMduchesne234 жыл бұрын
@@2steaksandwiches665 sales are one thing, but if the company says they dont sell then dont invest the money in improving the cars. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. GM made and sold more SUV's in the 90's and 2000's than another company and almost went bankrupt when gas prices went up by a dollar a gallon in the USA. I honestly think we are heading there again. I'm like you buy sports cars, they're rare and will hold value. Also buying electric. I'm done.

I know you're a hilarious satire channel RCR - but that ending was really great. I bought a Focus ST 2 years ago for the same reason this guy did. I wanted my family and friends to enjoy it if they ever came and visited me. I wanted a car that put a smile on my face - but other people enjoyed it too. I even wanted to teach my future SO how to drive it. It fit all those marks pretty perfectly. I loved driving it - and even all the non-car people really liked it. You don't even have to mod it - it's just good the way it is. I decided to sell the car this past April. I sold it and decided to *GULP* lease a 2016 Civic, as it was a "smart and sensible" decision. However, I think the ST and the RS are truly the perfect family cars for people who would like to have fun and also not have to compromise fun for practicality. With my Civic, I just have a "car". With the Focus, it was a fun driving experience and a unique vehicle that other people also enjoyed as much as I did. I still miss it.

Another great review and more smiles - cheers! As a time-served automotive certification engineer, I can confirm that it's not legal for the rear-view camera to constantly send an image which is directly visible to the driver - it's (allegedly) too much of a distraction. This applies to cars approved for sale in Europe/Australia/USA/Canada to my knowledge; it may also apply to other territories that routinely adopt European and/or US Federal legislation or modify the same to suit local requirements rather than developing bespoke standards. The system is considered as a driver's aid, but in itself that invokes conditions like "low-speed only" and/or "when reversing only". I'm not sure how Tesla has addressed that particular nugget of legislation; it may be due to recent changes in the European "rear visibility" standard (UN-ECE Regulation 46) which now allows direct viewing via a mirror to be replaced by a camera/monitor system, provided that a stringent set of conditions is met. I can guess based on previous experience that Tesla is currently lobbying NHTSA for the existing USA mirrors legislation to be updated to allow the same thing. I shall now once again hide my geeky knowledge and get back in my box.

It's a really cool car but there's only two glaring problems I see with it: (1.) No LSD or Torsen diffs, which is a requirement to be a really good AWD car like this one is marketed as. Brakes are a poor man's substitute. (2.) I still wouldn't feel right spending $40k on a focus unless I had a family like the owner.

White is a very traditional colour for the RS. All the way back to 1968: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/39/Ford_Escort_RS2000_MkI.jpg

HEY! ...They work. I like the integrated blind spot mirrors, they are better than a little orange light telling you that something is in your blind spot. Then again, maybe it’s better not knowing what’s there; it could be too much information for someone chewing gum and talking on their cell phone on the way to cut hair.

lol, was that filmed in Lynchburg, Virginia? If so that's sadder than an old man compiling about how American cars are better, then he buys a buick witch is just a rebaged Vauxhall.
@seantaylor26838 жыл бұрын
Vauxhall is owned by GM as are Holden and Opel
@youtubecrazy64388 жыл бұрын
I know, but I meant he only wants American cars that are only in America/Canada that aren't from another county and rebaged like the Ford escape(kuga). For example the Silverado(only really sold in America/Canada)

My 2nd fave car I’ve owned, just under my ND Miata, was a 2005 Civic Si hatchback. We had two young sons at the time, big enough to be out of kids’ car seats but small enough to easily get in and out of the backseat in that 2-door hatch. It was a great car, and like the Focus RS, practical enough for a small family but very fun to drive. Traded it for a new CRV and hated it. I’ll probably never own another SUV, or CUV or crossover. Hatched and wagons are the way to go if you want a fun but practical family car with some cargo room.

I like how 3/4 of the grill is actually a bar of black plastic and not actually a grill :D which is weird becuase even like this this is one of the smaller grills in the industry and you'd think with a hopped up engine like it has it would need a LOT of air to keep it cool and fueld and such.

I'm going to take a bit of exception to your comments about visibility. I bought a 2012 Focus SE in 2011, and I lived in Boston. I drove it up and down I-93 and I-95 through some of the heaviest, most aggressive, fastest freeway traffic that the USA has to offer, and the little blind spot mirrors saved my butt oh so many times. Yes, the rear visibility is crap, and parallel parking that thing is a nightmare without the rear camera (I had to learn to do it without the camera). But in normal driving in traffic, the mirrors gave me more than enough coverage to not hit anyone or anything.

The head unit knows when you're in reverse because of a wire behind it. IIRC if you short that wire to the power wire, it'll let you see the backing cam all the time.

Man I want this car so much! Think as a skinny young guy I wouldn't mind the slightly claustrophobic interior. But man those blind spots make my 2005 Fiesta's Visibility look good xD
