For countries where the tax is based on the car's displacement, this I4 Mustang makes sense if you want an American car but you want less tax. I've personally seen an Corvette Z06 in Malaysia and was shocked when I see the roadtax for that car, its MYR 12000 (USD 2,809.43). That's one of the reason why you don't see a lot of high displacement cars on the road unless you're someone who can buy a Rolls Royce or two Ferarris.

tbh just stick with the 5.0, a mustang without a coyote isn't a mustang. Only buy a mustang if you're filthy rich at least in Malaysia. Road tax, fuel prices, maintenance, speeding tickets, and our retarded import tax makes buying a mustang not worth it.
@Zaffry14 жыл бұрын
@@ReplicantBattyman I think it's only for bragging rights since you have one of few examples in Malaysia. Most town roads are bad but once you're on the highway, you're good but you need to make sure your car can handle the Malaysian heat. I'm not holding my breath in the short term, with all of the Americans moving away from sedans and hatchbacks, but if the crossover trend passes, who knows? Actually, I could see it coming back BECAUSE they don't have sedans or hatches of their own anymore. Let's say that people start buying regular cars (no relation) again, and Ford decides to get back in the game. They'll either have to engineer a platform from scratch, adapt a crossover platform, or partner with somebody and use their platform until they could come up one of their own. Maybe they'd patch things up with Mazda to make a Taurus based on the Mazda6, and make a new Probe based on the platform as well.

V6 > Ecoboost. More room for power gains, while keeping low boost numbers, and very noticeably lighter than the eco. Only downside is you couldn't get the premium package with the big screen in the v6. Should've been the mid tier model I don't understand why the Ecoboost was. It just feels quicker too despite being about the same performance as the eco (as far as times are concerned) thanks to not having a turbo to wait on. Along with that they're significantly cheaper than the other 2 normal engine options even on the used market. There's nothing wrong with the eco as far as how it performs in general. But compared to the v6 it feels slower, weighs more, and costs more. Just an obvious decision imo. Still can't believe they killed the 3.7 it is an insanely underrated platform

I used to have one of these. Throw on a tuna and a CAI and it completely changed the cars damenor. The turbo can make 22psi of boost at 2300rpm reliably and the CAI working with the stock blow off valve gives you all the turbo sounds you could ever dream of. Loved this car.

I have a purposeful dual exhaust on a single turbo I4-A Veloster N with performance pack. The exhaust is valved so one side is resonated and the other is straight through, so you can be commuter quiet or loud pops and gurgles just by toggling a setting on the steering wheel.

3" single exhaust split down to two 2" pipes decreases the amount of vertical room needed (not as "tall" under the car). It flattens the overall footprint of the exhaust, albeit makes it wider. Not sure what the situation is in this case, but thats what my 335i did.
@NGG19834 жыл бұрын
whatever you gotta tell yourself
@ryanfarrar33874 жыл бұрын
I think it is more likely the N55 335i does this because the older N54 335i had true dual exhaust from the twin turbos, and they didn't want the newer single turbo to seem like a downgrade (also the reason I think they harp on the "twin scroll" nature of the turbo and call it twin power, even though it is a single turbo.)
@jonnysteve_RF4 жыл бұрын
@@NGG1983 Totally agree with this, the N54 has true duals. My 09 135i (as well as my e46 330ci) have true dual all the way back but they both come out on the same side, so it looks like single exhaust.

The thing I think Ford didn't realise when they built this Mustang is that Europeans really only want a Mustang for the Yankie experience. That means that the V8 has actually sold pretty well over here. If it's not got the V8, I don't see the point. You can buy a similar age and mileage Audi S5 here for the same price as the 2.3 Mustang and I'd argue that the Audi is a far finer car than the Ford. Seems a bit of a waste of time making the Ecoboost at all.

You buy a mustang for the roaring 5.0, yeah. Although I can see a European balking at paying for all the fuel a 5.0 slurps up.

FocusRS owner here, Quick note about unplugging the mic or harness to stop the engine noise (Same system with this Mustang). It does also stop the active noise cancelling, which isn't a big deal when just on the road, but is a pretty big deal if using your phone with the bluetooth in the car. There's so much noise through your call that people can barely hear you. It's annoying, but if you plan on using hands-free anything in the car, keep it plugged in.

Sports cars need to sound good unfortunately the only one that does is the five liter coyote. That's the only problem I have with a mustang having four cylinders is that it sounds like garbage.
@FreeForAllFreak4 жыл бұрын
I've had mine for 5 years now and it's been great, but still always leaves something to be desired *cough 4 more cylinders*. Tune+ tune, Mishimoto intercooler & catch can, Ford Performance wheels, and Flowmaster outlaws. I have had zero issues after 50K miles and I voided my warranty at 2K miles, I redlined the car countless times with 200 miles on the odometer. The car didn't impress me stock but after the Cobb AcessPort and Tune+ auto trans tune, it was a little rocket. I think they are great performance bargains for people wanting to get into sports cars without breaking the bank, hence the word "Eco".

That last part is exactly what I said when I rented an EcoBoost convertible for a week. I took it up to Big Bear along 330 and back down on 18, drove along the Angeles Crest, took 74 up San Jacinto and into the desert, I had an absolute blast. It handled those constant tight turns incredibly well. I couldn't get the rear end to kick out unless I really, really tried, so I could power out of corners. 300hp, 310lbft of torque or thereabouts, was perfect.
