CVT TRANSMISSIONS ARE JUNK. 6 Speed Manuel in any car is the way too go

I like the idea of the break assist BUT rolling back was the fun part especially when you pull off an the car would buck as you changed gears. I miss the old school stuff LOL

+istvan buda yup. the automatic transmission of HR-V is CVT which is slow on accelerating.
@MrRuliRulo8 жыл бұрын
I'd drive a regular automatic but not their cvt transmission. One thing I disagree with their HRV is the fact the they don't sell the awd in manual version and I refuse to drive a cvt.
@berniesanders38496 жыл бұрын
Sadly, it's becoming less. The 2019 HR-V will not offer a manual transmission. We need more manuals! #SaveTheManuals

Why is this not even an option on the AWD Top of the Line? Feels way degrading to offer it as a "EL CHEAPO" option.... Manuals should not denote its cheaper than the CVT as if the CVT was better.... Transmissions should be a buyers choice not a locked out option to denote that you are buying the cheapest version.
@oasisman7 жыл бұрын
i agree, but on the American/Canadian market, ppl buy less stick shifts, so its easier for Honda to offer the options as they are. i don't like it, i agree. There should be a stick shift AWD.

This is a bit confusing. The brake hold and the hill start assist are separate features. Even if brake hold is turned off, hill start assist detects when the car is on a slope and automatically provides a second or two of brake while you switch your foot from clutch to accelerator. With brake hold turned on, the brake holds every time you stop.

This is the exact car I want...a manual shift HR-V in White (or maybe Green). Had a Green Honda Civic 5-speed which I bought brand new in 1992, and sold it in 2012 when it was 20 years old with less than 60,000 miles and it still ran like new. Never had ONE problem with that car (other than me wrecking it, minor damage a few times) and never tired of going on a drive and being able to run through the gears.

I would love to see the civic with that Brake hold and Hill start assist. I live in socal where traffic is horrendous and is the main reason I have yet to want to get a car that is manual. But I desperately want to learn and drive a manual and it would make much more sense where I live to have those features. Of course enthusiasts would argue sacrilege lol. Thanks for the video Edward

Hopefully they come out with a k24z engine for the HR-V, and if they do i wouldn't hesitate to get one. i'm currently waiting 4 more months till i could go pick up a honda civic si coupe. i had a 2013 civic si sedan, but i got rear ended. once it got fixed i ended up selling it to a friend, so i'm currently on a honda cbr 600rr bike in till i get the civic si coupe. btw i love your work, keep it up.

When shifting into gears in a manual transmission car alls you have to do to switch gears is just let off the gas press in the clutch then switch gears but can you just step on the clutch and let go then switch and keep going or not I'm just wondering

Hi Honda Man, is there a way to disable hill start assist ? I dont need HSA on small inclinations and i am used to using the hand brake. Its more fun handling hills manually than letting the system do it for you.
@joeturnip42167 жыл бұрын
If you don't activate the HSA it won't come on line however, there is no manual handbrake in the manual HR-V so you can't use the parking brake handle to keep from rolling back. The HSA works just fine. I love it on my 2016 HR-V.

anyone help me please, I am looking for a 6 speed manual transmission car having a engine between 1.5-2.0 Liter, that gives highest mpg and engine durability; sometimes i go on highway from state to state. speed and acceleration doesn't matter, top speed 130-140 mph would be good for me.

Americans make such a big deal with driving a manual. Here in Europe it's so normal to drive manuals. We don't complain about hill start assist, we don't need that cause we were taught how to do it right. Also brake assist isn't necessary cause we don't complain either about just putting the foot on the brake. Yes, they are nice things to have but not a must have if you drive a manual
@oasisman7 жыл бұрын
Yes, those are new features. Honda is one of the few car makers that still make manuals. I'm glad they are making improvements. Other car-makers don't make too many manuals anymore sadly.
