I don't always agree with your opinions, but your willingness to speak your mind and criticize cars in an intelligent manner is what gives you credibility, and keeps me coming back. Thanks for the video.

pretty smooth i think...i dont know too much about cars but im very happy with it...people i know that know about cars say its smooth and quiet because of the CVT engine??....not quite sure what that means but thats what they say. hope that helps!

Does it handle like a car... I have an older CRV and looking to get one of these and want something that handles more like a car.

Long live the manual in at least mid-level trim. The added room for both cargo and people make it a winner as well for me over the Fit. Definitely on my short list come this fall. Excellent review.

I currently have an older CRV and I'm looking to get a smaller suv that handles more like a car. This will most likely be my next purchase.

This will take some sales from the larger CR-V. Well played, Honda. A future hit.

I own a 2015 Fit EX-L with CVT, I've put 8k km's on it. It's nice to finally have some options like Navi/sunroof/backup cams. I actually have no problem with the infotainment, since I used the steering wheel mounted controls for 99% of things. A few things I don't like about it compared to the last gen, and what I'm hoping are resolved in the HR-V: (1) At almost every adjustment, the top portion of the steering wheel blocks the top half of the speedometer. (2) Window-level cup holder on driver's side is directly in front of the defrost vent, and has a flimsy flap on it, which falls open often. Window-level cup holder for passenger is now gone. (3) Driver's arm rest is too low. Common in too many cars these days. Last gen had a flimsy one, but it was at a good height. (4). Leather seats are heated and look good - but are typical Honda - which means zero support and very uncomfortable. Would have been nice to have 'good' seats instead of 'good looking' seats. (5) Gas mileage with the CVT is not even close to as good as last gen's 5spd. Updated L/100k (mpg) monitoring aside, I'm getting about 150kms less per tank on the highway than I did with my '09 5spd - same tank size (40L). (6) For $29k taxes included (Canadian $), I was expecting a stereo with a little more power. 180w is kind of pathetic for 2015.

+Baconator James I'm planing to buy fit or HR-V but they haven't arrived in my country yet so there isn't much information about them. could you share your l/100km consumption? petrol is really expensive in my country and if it's too high, i might have to consider diesel option. (As you know factory numbers are all lies)
@BaconatorJames
@BaconatorJames 9 жыл бұрын
+tardigrad My Fit is between 6-8L on average, mostly city or 100km/h driving at around 20ft above sea level, not too many hills. This fuel consumption is what's reported to me via the car's computer, which is, I'm told, more accurate than the last one. I had a 2009 Fit (5spd) that averaged 5.5L, but that was likely incorrect and Honda's recently been forced to comply with a more accurate estimate. When I test drove the HR-V, it was so underpowered, I thought it was a joke. That said, it's still a good AWD option if you just want a Fit with AWD. It, however, got around 11-13L per 100k. So did the Mazda CX-3 I test drove. If you don't need AWD, I'd choose the Fit over everything in its class by a longshot - except maybe for the Mazda 3, then it's a closer race. The Fit's versatility is what breaks that tie.

thank you for your explanation and time. HR-V will come only with FWD in my country and both Fit and HR-V will have lower engines. Fit will be only with 1.3 petrol and HR-V will be 1.5 petrol... my first choice would be Fit but my wife wants a bigger car to be not disturbed by some morons on the roads and I think she is right about it... tough choice for me and I guess I won't be able to decide without seeing price of both cars... thanks again

+tardigrad no problem. HRV is just taller and wider - which is nice, but you should check the Fit's ability to ...fit.... anything before buying. I helped a friend move, and actually fit his couch in my '09. Good luck!
@BaconatorJames
@BaconatorJames 9 жыл бұрын
Worth mentioning, now that I have closer to 20k kms on it, the consumption is about a full L/100k better than before the first oil change

Once my lease is up next July, I'm buying this vehicle. I really like compact vehicles, ie Fit. My friend just recent got a new CRV, which I thought was a bit bulky and big for my taste. I guess Honda was thinking about another "niche" crowd when they made this - totally interested.

It's getting rare to see manual transmission in the U.S. Sad. I 'm glad car companies are still offering them. Much more enjoyable to drive IMO.

I so hope they ditch the 1.8 old civic engine and put the 1.5 turbo earth dreams. And if they offered a 6 speed manual AWD, WOW that would be AWESOME

I am sorry but I don't think the value for the money is here. One CAN get a CRV for 22-24K (LX) get more room, power and still get similar MPG numbers. This will sell like hotcakes because it is the new fashion, but for better value I can't believe people dont see the ripoff this is. This should be priced at 20 max to make sense and with the LX at 17K.
@kingthemob
@kingthemob 9 жыл бұрын
cassmanio You have a point, but if the hrv is priced at 17k then it will eat a lot of civic sales for honda. LX is priced to about 20k which is fine. An LX crv will cost around 26 27k after tax and fees depending on state and EX about 30k driveout price.
@ReligiousShooter
@ReligiousShooter 9 жыл бұрын
cassmanio I think you are comparing street price of the CRV to MSRP of the HRV. Tight now, the Honda USA website has the CRV start at $23445. Starting MSRP for the HRV starts at $19115. That's $4330 difference between the CRV and the HRV. That's quite a bit of difference.

+cassmanio very true..my cousin just bought a CR-V for about the same price i bought my HRV but the thing is for me anyway--its about looks im a college student.....he is a family man.... i really love still looking and feeling young in my HRV ---this was an upgrade from my 09 corolla...so im happy i upgraded in size while still looking young
