Hyundai have great sounding exhausts if you set them up right. Case in point. Had a Sonata with a 3.8L V6 from an Azera. I deleted the rear mufflers and installed Jones Exhaust Turbo Tube mufflers. Nice deep tone on V6s and V8s. Which they had FlowFX mufflers back then.

"That things fast!" 429 screaming horses in that 5.0. My 2010 Genesis had the 4.6 and that had 375 right off the bat. When it came to the v8 segment, Hyundai REALLY nailed it. Their 5.0 was on par with the Coyote 5.0 for a while, before Hyundai decreased the power and Ford increased theirs.

that would be an utter beast for sure, and given how lightweight the coupes actually were even with the 3.8, it would for sure be running toe to toe with gt's and ss's...only minor setback would be the sluggish 8 speed auto, but a pedal commander alone would somewhat fix that issue for sure...a manual 5.0 coupe would terrorize everything on the road tho.

like skip said, it's Hyundai's own engine. They named that engine family Tau. Coincidentally though the two displacements that were ever offered were 4.6 originally and then the 5.0 came out in 2012 lol

Should just be a quarter inch larger diameter piping all the way back from the flowmasters, which in turn are the ghetto go to mufflers lol - some borlas with a quarter inch larger piping all the way back would sound night and day difference and actually good. ... I've heard one with the setup I'm speaking of and it doesn't sound like it's struggling and raspy like this one does... Sounds as good as a quality done LS1 exhaust system.

The Equus is a quiet, calm, sedate, conservative cruiser, not a race car!! The sound DOES NOT MATCH THE CAR!! This is the most awkward and strange thing I have seen in a luxury car.
