2016 IC CE #25 Cummins ISB 6.7L Start and Drive Home from School

It was a nice ride home from the first day of school. This bus and many others like it have the Cummins ISB 6.7L I6 as well as full LED lighting, dual stop signs, traffic cameras, 100 gallon fuel tanks, and much more. Skip to 7:16 for the driving portion as the first 7 minutes are parked minutes.

I ride a 2018 C2 Premiere Model with a 6.7L Cummins ISB and that sucker is fully loaded it. And boy it can ran man!

Our Fleet in Kansas City, KS 50 2011 Thomas Saf-T-Liner HDX CNG (3 are long distance trip buses) 38 1997-2000 Thomas 3800's (had 86 before HDX replaced half) DT466E 10 2001 Thomas FS-65 2 2002 IC CE 300'S 17 2006-2010 IC CE 300's (One I currently ride) MaxxForcee 8 2015 IC CE 300's (Nice sounding btw) Cummins 22 2012-2015 Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 Cummins 14 1997-2001 Blue Bird Micro-Birds 14 2002 IC DE 300's 40 2006-2010 IC DE 300's Personally I like the 06-10 IC CE and the 97-00 3800's the most. The sound really great, still on top of their games. I like the HDX buses but they just seem very gutless and slow. Sounds like you guys have a nice fleet, and a very nice bus driver.

We have all IC CEs for normal size buses. 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016. The 12s are my favorite. They sound the best in my opinion.

I have two bus routes. One to school, and one from school. My morning route is a C2, and my afternoon route is a 2011 Blue Bird Vision, which has a bunch of problems, and my bus driver is always telling me he wishes he could drive one of the IC CE's that my school district has, because they got some, and they seem really nice.

What Sally was saying about the brakes.. She doesn't slam them so that's why. A lot of people complain about the juice brakes going out a lot (we have one driver here who does this) but they slam on them and the lines snap. I don't like juice brakes at all.

the defrosters and heaters in IC are decent.. I noticed your driver mentioning that.. but they still fail to refrigerate the defrost..a small cost for safety.. (I did this to a bluebird conventional a few years ago and it made widow defogging flawless)

I ride on a 2016 IC CE too and its nice. I miss the C2 with the MBE I use to ride though :(

Anyway, C2's suck. They aren't good, have no A/C, and a lot of crashes has happened in C2's. Do not ever drive them, and they say heroes have drove them, that is a false statement, and they say six million bus bought. Not true, only 30,000. Ic Ce has like over 200 billion buses out there, and first bus manufactuer.

I read on the IC website that hte CE is now standard with full hydraulic brakes. I can see why now days since I went through 8 weeks tractor trailer training and noticed that Air brakes have a firmer brake pedal than hydraulic and require a longer stopping distance. I do have to retake the yard skills portion of the DMV test a I didnt get enough training on Alley docking and thats what I got stuck with.

Check out Lion 360 built in Canada, made out of composite won't rust. I drive school bus and we have 2008-2011 IC's not a fan alot of electrical,and body rust problems. prefer the Bluebird, or Thomas.

Is this Oswego, IL? Small world, I live in Wheaton, IL but have been through Oswego a few times this year. It's nice how you guys have these new buses. Our district had First Student up until a few years ago, which had mostly International CE's, but in 2013 Illinois Central School Bus won the bid for district. They opened a brand new bus yard in West Chicago with used buses brought over from different terminals. My daily bus is a 2005 Blue Bird Vision. Never been on a brand new bus like this.

International no longer makes their own engines,, alas why the maxxforce DT went away. IHC had so many issues over the years with injector troubles and electronics.. (VT365 anyone? T444E anyone? ) the IC busses are Ok.. but I dont think they are as hevy duty as some of the older ones.. notice the couple of recent rollovers where the roof crushed on these almost down to the window lines...lots of broken glass and window frames dislodged... they drive almost like cars now though..

According to ICs website the IC RE is standard with Maxxforce DT but the CE is standard with Cummins ISB. Its good International now offers ISB on the durastar Chassis as I know the Pro star tractor has been available with Maxxforce 13 and 15 as well as Cummins ISX 15. And I read the IC is now standard with full hydraulic brakes.

International did have a Navistar N9 and N13. I know the International LT is optional with International A26 or Cummins ISX 15. I'm not fond of the N13 as the N13 and Maxxforce 13 sound more like Medium duty instead of like a regular tractor trailer.

There's a plaque just behind the service door that tells you what year the bus was built. The model year is 1 year ahead of the calendar year.

The engine has 220Bhp. ( Well the 6.7L Cummins ISB's in the uk do anyway )
