2016 Indian Roadmaster Review

Starting at $28,000 the Indian Roadmaster is perfect for the rider who enjoys long cruises with a sewing machine between their legs. The quietness and smoothness of this motorcycle cannot be understated. Basically, it’s a fully dressed Chieftain, with a ton of standard options, such as heated grips along with rider and passenger seats, remote locking storage, keyless ignition, cruise control and ABS, power windshield, and a premium stereo system. Almost 38 gallons of total weatherproof storage means you can take all but the kitchen sink with you, and the premium leather plush seat is unique to the Roadmaster. So what powers this massive 930 pounds wet BEFORE riders and luggage down the highway you ask? A smooth as silk 111 cubic inch motor that produces a massive 119.2 pound-feet of trq at a mere 3000rpm, mated to a similarly silky smooth 6 speed transmission. The Roadmaster is handsome and ugly at the time, in my opinion, one of those hate it or love it looks. One thing is certain, it is very comfortable, and very, very smooth. Its easy to see why we are starting to see a lot of these on the road today. So load up all your gear, your riding partner, and hit the road on the Indian Roadmaster!

I'ts not designed to win any races. It's designed to get you from New York to Sand Diego in style luxury and comfort. For that it can't be beat. Nothing ugly about this bike. It is the epitomy of beauty style grace and class. Wouldn't trade mine for any other bike on the planet.

You can add a heel shifter

Polaris/Indian has always despised heel shifts.. very frustrating and almost to the point of un american..

I agree. makes no sense that a bike like this would not come stock with a heel shifter. Fortunately, there is one availabe. I have one on mine. I own this bike exactly except my is red and cream and has a few extras.

Looking into getting this bike ! I have a Harley sportster 1200 and can am spyder. I’m 5’7 about 155lbs do you think I’d have trouble riding this ? Lol

You seriously need to learn to shift by 4k RPMs.

The Trq band is around 3k rpm, the HP band is around 4300-4500rpm on this bike, I was staying in the 'power band'. Also, I'm coming from a bike that LOVES high revs, the Yamaha Warrior. Everyone rides their bike differently, unless I'm coasting on the highway at 75-80mph and keeping the revs below 2500 or so, I'm keeping the revs in the power band which on this bike is 3k-4500. So I suppose I ride more 'sport like' than you.
