That's the exact one I'd get. I don't need the massive V8. And the V6 has a fantastic note and that bonkers overrun. The manual would be so much fun and the coupe is definitely less flashy than the convertible.

The anti-stall feature is something that most (if not, all) manual transmissions can already do. Basically, it's up to the driver to control the clutch and everything. Personally, when I drive a manual, I apply extremely light pressure to the gas pedal in order to increase the revs just a little bit to prevent stalling while driving slowly.

The revs increasing is the anti stall feature. However it is true that this can basically be done in any manual car as long as one lets go of the clutch gently enough.

Excellent review. Not only is the F-Type S a stunningly gorgeous and extremely capable sports car, with just the right amount of power, but it's also an absolute bargain, compared to its competition (911, AMG GT), and can be had with a manual. I've always planned on purchasing a used Cayman S, at some point in the future, but this F-Type offers similar performance and price, but with a far more stylish interior and a better sounding exhaust note. They both have great look exterior, though. Tough choice!

The reason I would rather have this over the V8 models, besides the obvious manual transmission, is the fact that the engine note sounds so close to one of my top 3 dream cars, and this car's predecessor: The eternally beautiful Jaguar E-Type.

This works on all manual cars with electronic fuel injection... the car's idle is being controlled by an electronic throttle, which applies more throttle if the engine goes bellow x RPM idle. It works with carburator motors but its a little harder, and you have to have more finesse with the clutch as there is no ECU controling the throttle.

Rear fender sculpting and rear facade are reminiscent of the early E-Type models as well as a hint of influence from Raymond Loewy's classic design for the Studebaker Avanti, in which the rear section tapers down into a nice compact boat-tail like exotic appearance when viewed from aft angles of the car. -NICE

most manual transmission cars (and i've had five of them over the past 50 years, from a VW bug to a dodge pickup, to an aston martin vantage) will not stall if one slowly engages the clutch while in 1st gear and on level ground. when inclined it becomes less tolerant as the incline increases.

It takes time to appreciate the car's dynamics. In my case, it took about a month to really get to learn how to make the most out of my V6 manual but man, I'd not change it for anything. Rev matching it with a juicy blip up or down makes the most amazing sounds. Plus the overrun at about 2.3K rpms is gorgeous. It's not the fastest gear shifting (my previous TT was a lot smother) but the F-type clutch is soft and the gear box is solid and feels good, too!

The stall feature isn't really that impressive. You can do that same thing with any manual car. I've done it with Hondas, my Mustang Mach 1 and my friend did it with his Nissan. That's just how manuals work when you ease off the clutch the right way

Yep, my old 2004 Renault laguna 1.9d could do that. Isn't it just torque doing that. Come to think of it that diesel engine would pull away with (clutch only) in 1st, and you could with out touching the accelerator, go through all the hears to sixth if done slowly enough ending up at 70mph, just by riding the clutch. Not recommended, but shows the 'special feature' is BS.

5:40 Kyle, try this out on an manual volvo and general german cars with manual transmission. Every since, i guess, 2008 can do this. My parents are driving a volvo s40 2008 and it's capable of, like my friends 2009 bmw 1 series 116i.
