Canadian quota is small. I see maybe one a week in Vancouver. I test drove the R V8 but it was insane. I drive up the road to Safeway !...They sourced my car in Calgary and shipped it. Brand new...warranty et al. It is base 340 V6, but had $10,000 of options. Glass roof etc.....MSRP was $89,000, but I spent 2 weeks negotiating, and was happy with the deal in the end. I recently purchased a 2016 F Type. White with a manual transmission. It truly is an incredible machine. One thing I will state is the seats are a little stiff. Maybe I am just noticing because my other car, which is an Acura TL sedan, has very comfortable seats. But overall, it really is an incredible ride. And quite smooth actually. I had half expected a rougher ride due to being a sports car with stiffer suspension. But in actuality, it rides quite nice.

To answer your question, I do not have the SVR but I do own the V8 soft top. The performance of the car is absolutely incredible. I traded in my SL65 AMG for the Jag so I get the performance factor. The exhaust sound is that much more intense and the horsepower difference truly puts the car on the border of supercar status. The total driving experience of this car is unmatched in this price category. Yes I have driven a 911 Turbo but definitely does not get the smile on your face the Jag does!

Thanks Ped, for a lovely review - I really enjoy your channel. As a Brit living abroad (Romania) I wanted a sports car and if it could be British too then even better! For almost 2 years now, I've been a very lucky and happy owner of a V6 S convertible in Italian Racing Red and I love it to bits. F-Types are rarer than hen's teeth here so I imported a 2015 model from Germany with just 23,000 kms on the clock and it drives like new. The pops and bangs make any day a good/great day. I haven't driven it on the famous Transfagarasan highway yet, but perhaps that's something to keep for this coming summer. All the best!

Great review, here's a tip, next time you go past the dealer pop in and ask him about the switch to the right of the gear stick, yes the black and gold one. I was talking to the deal near me who was talking to the designer who said he got this switch from the Euro fighter (TYPHOON) really, and this is the exact same one. that's why it looks so different from all the rest.

Had my '14 380 Coupe a couple of months now. Shock horror- it doesn't have the loud exhaust button ! However, put it in Dynamic and sport (why not) and it is plenty loud enough for me ! As this review goes, he's telling us he loves the car. Did he cane it round bends and feel how absolutely planted and rock steady it is ? Possibly, but would he want the car owers to know- I doubt it. My F Type is far better than I had imagined it to be and like Malcolm Ferran I am utterly smitten- so much so that I talk to it when she is being cleaned, and when applying the polish. Buffing the polish off is a joy- those smoothe long lines and lovely shapes are almost erotic, and when she's proper shiney my missus tells me I love the car more than her, but when i take her out in it she says I'm mad- but she loves the noise, the accelleration, the cornering and even the cruising burble. She is concerned that I turn into a nutter every time I get in the car. "It's not me love" I tell her, "it's the car- it makes me do those things. It's what it was built for "! She's still mulling over that one.

Sounds like you are loving the F Type. Still one of my favourite cars I have driven on Petrol Ped !
@xay64605 жыл бұрын
how reliable has it been?
@Catfordkeith5 жыл бұрын
@@xay6460 Totally ! Not missed a beat at all, on the button every time, even after nearly 2 months in the Garage due to snow and that nasty salt on the roads. Did over 600 trouble free miles in 2 days and am still utterly smitten. Sadly, there is a corrosion problem which JLR are very reluctant thus far to sort out. This is an awesome car, not the fastest but plenty fast enough noisy and reliable.... thus far.

Nice review thanks! Were the seats comfortable? And what did you think of the interior?
@PetrolPed8 жыл бұрын
Hi Ryan The seats were very comfy. The were a very expensive option though. The interior was a very nice place to be. I do think Audi MMI and Sat Nav is a little better than the JLR one.

Ive been pondering about an m3 or f type and youve just made my mind up with this brilliantly produced video, f type all the way, you only live once f#@k practicality, ill do the shopping in the work van 😂😂. Im going to look at a v6s tomorrow Getting the feeling this is the better all-rounder for the road than the v8, lighter more accessible power, whats your opinion on the best engine for the real world?

Nice review....How tall are you and was the car comfortable for you? Is the F Type roomy enough for someone 6ft. 2" tall? Thanks
@PetrolPed8 жыл бұрын
Hi There. I'm 6ft 3" with a 35" inside leg and there was plenty of room for me. The F Type is a very comfortable car for the taller driver. It you like F Types you should check out my F Type SVR review. That car was AWESOME !

Hi PP, i hope you're well. Great review of a great car. I'm 6' 1' do you think the seat has enough adjustment and headroom? Also, did the panoramic roof open? Keep up the great work on your reviews

Awesome video. It's not the first review I have seen of a supercharged Jaguar when the reviewer lapses into delighted laughter! I have a 2016 XF S: same supercharged engine, 5.1 seconds 0-60, similar suspension and red/black interior. I did a run on Saturday with a pal and we were both doing the "laugh out loud" thing. The XF doesn't have the same exhaust sound, sadly, but definitely has the same Jaguar pace and grace, plus even more space (room for rear passengers and more luggage). Loved this review and enjoying the channel!

Did you also drive the XK and how did it compare?
@PetrolPed7 жыл бұрын
Hi There. I've not driven an XK yet so don't know how they compare.
@cheeky69ok7 жыл бұрын
I had an XKR for many years and even though mine was modified with R-S suspension and fully polybushed it gets nowhere near the pin-sharp handling of the F-Type. The fact the F-Type is considerably lighter, not as long and only 2 seats goes some way to achieving a better handling experience. Seriously the guys at JLR have really sorted this car - it is amazing and in my opinion better than a Cayman-S or 911....it really is THAT good.
