Your solution was the fix I needed for my 2017 Kia Soul +. My catalytic converter was damaged from multiple misfires after getting contaminated (water) gas from a reputable gas station. After fixing the other damaged components (spark plugs, coil packs, fuel injectors, fuel filters, fuel pump,…) and getting fresh gas, this was the last piece of the puzzle to replace. I will be replacing the O2 sensors (upstream/downstream) soon also. Thanks for your detailed video and scientific approach with analytics. Please continue making these great videos!

2026 Kia Rio , back pressure is going on I change the cat and the high pressure fuel pump change still same problem. Still no power you mention vvt can cause back pressure how do you check that to see

hey you make great videos, you obviously must have some kind of video editing capability. I dont have that much scope experience, so had to piece some of the details together, but you finally explained at last part about how you had 2 traces of same transducer. thanks again , after finding this i have same issue with 14 soul 2.0, and im mad i didnt figure it out myself !! it had same backfire popping and i was thinking the worst like problem with VVVT

Just because your symptoms are the same does not mean you have the same problem. If your cat is clogged or damaged you need to figure out what caused it. They do not get damaged on their own.

I'm having same issue. Pulled the primary o2 sensor and ran it that way up the road and power was restored. I'm being told that the exhaust manifold is also a converter and that both it and the one underneath the car before the muffler should be replaced. When I looked at it visually it appears the manifold doesn't have a converter section on the 2.0L like the 1.6L. Can anyone verify that the exhaust manifold would need to be replaced as well?

You can look up the parts using "repair link shop" or getting a parts diagram from the dealer. If the cat failed something damaged it and whatever damaged it needs to be fixed.

2016 soul, won't go above 3000 rpm and after the motor will drop to 1000 rom and barely idle ,try to pump throttle to get up rpm motor dies and have to restart engine

That I don't know, I didn't seen any oil in the exhaust, customer said there was no misfires. I'm assuming it may have misfire and they didn't notice it. I can only do so much before I'm just wasting time. It's one of the downsides when you don't service the vehicle regularly with the same shop.

Probably from the back pressure causing the engine misfire or the trans to not shift right.

It's called a Teardown case. It was done by JerryRigEverything. It was a partnership with dbrand.com. I don't think you can get them anymore. It was a week special deal.

Disengage the active eco!! They should have never put that in these cars! It’s the button in the middle in front of gear selector. It shows eco in green on dash. My soul is shit when this is on and it messes it up! I have to turn it off and unplug battery and hold and wait

I think you may have another problem. This has a ton of power with active eco on or off.

Yes, actually you are right! My Soul has 50k miles on it and the damn thing is a 2.0GDI engine and has no oil in the engine at all!!! No warning lights; nothing! The only thing was I got horrible clatter and shudder from engine bay while turning left and shifting. I checked the oil nothing!! Just a tad of residue on the tip! I always change the oil myself with mobil1 5w20 synthetic and not one bit of a leak; always been fine! Look it up tons of folks same mileage or there of engine toast! I am dropping off tomorrow! It’s still running but you know there’s damage! I mean I drive fairly heavy for work and I don’t know how long it’s been that way because I always have radio and air on! But caught it and it sounds horrible and almost died a few times. Generally I am good at checking oil etc but when it’s changed and cared for the way I treat it and the fact it’s never had an issue or leak! I didn’t mean to sound shorty I just know that mine out in Econ makes it act like shit!!! It will cancel eco when you lay on it but it messes with the shift program

@@gabrielbeadle4496 I have a 2015 Soul+ with the 2.0GDI, 130,000 miles. These things eat oil. I think it's the PCV system sending oil mist into the intake and out the exhaust. No drips. I haven't looked into it too hard because a quart of oil every 1000 miles is not expensive.
