@romanticdonkey4685 жыл бұрын
Tony Scar ... It’s not about the money, or being able to afford the maintenance. It’s the hassle of constantly having to take the car to the shop. Being on the highway and waiting for the next problem. Not wanting to use that vehicle for a road trip because you just don’t trust that it’ll get out and back without leaving you stranded. I’m looking at the LX for my wife, and possibly this one for me. I just want vehicles that I can daily drive without the damn thing wasting my time and needing to go to the shop. I’d like to save a large chunk of money and buy each one at about 4 years old. With Lexus, I hope to get many trouble free years out of them.

Every time I watch a Lexus review, there's one thing I wish other luxury car manufacturers really focused on. And this is a Toyota/Lexus staple, IT'S RELIABILITY. I swear to god, no other luxury car manufacturer focuses on this anymore. They focus more on the impressive engine and interior technology, which I understand, it's modern-day luxury, but Lexus vehicles last a long time for a reason, and it's because they focus a lot on reliability. I mean Lexus is one of my favourite luxury brands, not only because they have really cool and nice interiors, great value, but also they will last you a long time, they will still be very solid after many years, and will cause you very little problems. I mean I see older Lexus vehicles from like the 2000s, and they're still looking and driving like brand new today. So Lexus, in my opinion, is a very underrated brand, and it's sad that most people don't really consider reliability as a top priority, and Lexus will give that to you. Why would you want to buy a car that'll give you huge maintenance nightmares and you will be spending a crap ton of money to fix that? Lexus vehicles, you'll be spending like very little money to fix anything, or even spending no money at all, because they're just tanks, and this V8 will last you a long time. It's sad that people don't consider Lexus a good luxury brand, because they certainly are, and to me, the best Japanese luxury brand in existence, even more so than Acura and Infiniti.

My dad has a 2000 Lexus with over 120k miles and the only part his replaced is the water pump (wasn't broken but recommended by the garage) and 1 suspension spring ( lots of speed bumps where he lives). I bought a 2009 RX 450h SE-L and everything still works perfectly including the air suspension. In 2 weeks I'll be bringing home a 2016 GS F with 35k and all the extras inc painted disc calibers, sunroof and mark Levinson sound system. Still keeping the RX because it's lovely to drive and the GS F will be my summer weekend toy.

I feel like this GS F was just a test for the next gen GS F and/or F line up. Hopefully the next generation of lexus vehicles will be a lot better. And we've actually seen lexus improve in terms of performance. Like look at the IS F. From the first IS F to the facelifted IS F. The drive was completely better to where it almost beat the M3 of that year. So lexus is on track to having the F line on par with AMG M V and the RS line

Adrian de leon there will be a new GS-F in 2019 with a 5.0L Bi-Turbo V8. The LC-F will be out the same year with the same engine as well. I don't why Lexus put this car out there so early. Maybe it's just a test like you said.

Stutta T i feel like lexus would out the same twin turbo v8 thats the the LC F with the GS F. Thats like putting the LFA v10 in the IS F. It wouldnt make sense. Maybe lexus does put the same v8 in the next gen GS F as with the LC F but have different power numbers so they can differentiate one another

Do you know if this car is being “axed” as well as the GS 350/sport?

Took one of these for a test drive today and it's a beast, but dear god the onboard controls have gone downhill. Lexus had the absolute best touchscreen system on the market and in an attempt to appeal to German saloon owners they have replaced it with a clunky control driven system a la BMW, soooooo disappointed :(

This car and the CTS-V are nice, but I can't afford 1.

i wish they could crank out more horse power to be competative with rival cars

Rick James Where Lexus held on it's power, it has massive advantage on the weight. GSF is by far the lightest car in the segment, with just 1830kg, it's as much as 150kg lighter than all of German rivals, In fact the only car that has closest curb weight is the CTS-V, which weights 1880kg. Does the weight gives enough edge to the rivals on speed? Not really, but it means suspension and tires has less stress to deal with and you know what that means
@rickjames59987 жыл бұрын
hmm but i guess you could also argue that it is fairly cheaper than competators. And its a Toyota, so it will last for years. I recently test drove an RC F and GS F and honestly the gs is more favores by me. it has better view, more roomier and therefore cosiers and more practical vehicle that i can enjoy by myself or with my family for years to come
@shethjones44947 жыл бұрын
if the CTS V sport and V didn't exist this car would look a lot better. it shows Lexus doesn't think it needs to consider those cars as key competitors. CTS-V has all performance hardware standard at $85k. While you can add options, most are cosmetic and unnecessary. Also the XF is almost as fast as this car for less money.
@INUMIMI287 жыл бұрын
Sheth Jones It will be more understandable if you think about where the cars like Maserati Ghibli's niche are. Those kind of people don't buy cars for speed. The buy for the charisma. I think that's where Lexus is aiming for.

If you really want more power buy a supercharger kit. 725hp is being pulled out of the ISF motor. They have kits for the RCF and GSF too. Its overkill. I would rather have a car that hooks up on tires I use daily.

default to normal mode is actually a good and thoughtful idea. most people don't have their own parking space. therefore u don't want the vehicle extra sensitive with throttle response when between other vehicles. in a second or 2 u can place it back to it's sport setting. surprised u actually knocked that feature, smh.
