This review is accurate. I love my 2016 but it has it's flaws: no variable dampening (2017 and up) and the ride is a tad stiff, no spare tire but huge trunk for storage (great for long road trips and luggage), transmission is slow when cold. To me it is the perfect blend of quality craftsmanship (minus the bubbling carbon fiber interior pieces), luxury and performance. At 92, xxxx miles, it feels like I just drove it off the lot. No rattles or squeaks, nimble handing at speed and plenty of power when needed with zero mechanical issues to report and 30+ mpg in Eco at cruising speed. Pretty damn good car so far.

Excellent review. I've got an RCF and on many occasions wish I had gone this route for the extra doors, rarity, etc. Shame they discontinued it.

You can still though. IS500 isn't too different from GSF. In fact, it's faster than the GSF, just not as good a handler bc of the Torsen and more relaxed suspension vs the TVD in the GSF.

Great review and well explained. I bought a gs-f because i knew what Yukihiko Yaguchi was aiming for. Character, feel and passion of a V8 and ticks all boxes. I know people with the german rivals and they're soul less (clinical). Yes fast but also boring at the same time.

around 3,800 rpm at 50% throttle approx. a deep baritone sound emanates from the engine, not the exhaust, the actual engine sound. It is fab. While I am fond of my 2 Porsche flat-six sports car motors, Lexus F 5.0 motors are awesome. For a full-size sedan, 4,000 lbs is pretty good. My 97 Jag XJ6 base and 2003 Lexus LS 430 both weigh more. The suspension is a bit too hyper as evidenced on highways that switch from asphalt and back to concrete; when on concrete sections the suspension slightly bobs. No way you can sip a liquid in a moving 2016 GSF. Perhaps 2017-2020 where it switched to shocks that have a few different modes. I have taken mine on Porsche club auto-cross events and back-road driving tours; the GS F was notably fun.
