+Steve W I made the ''mistake'' of going to the Mazda dealer and fell in love with it. I currently own a mazda 3 sedan... Things that might keep me from buying it is the rear seats... If you are 5'11'' like me it is still ok, but your tall friends might not fit inside. Also the trunk is much smaller. I don;t think I would be able to carry snowboards, skis or bikes inside, like I do in my mazda 3. Oh well...

+Valter Vilar LOL, the rear seats is the only reason why I went with a Subaru Impreza, which was also a hatchback. I remember when i had the choice between the two, my co-workers thought i was going to get the old wrx hatch so he told me to "get it in blue, and a hatchback". So I went for the 2014 Subaru instead of the mazda. I sort of regret my decision because I usually drive alone in the car and I'm a huge tech geek(subaru lacks that). But when i do hall my friends, they never complain how small the backseats were. They are pretty roomy and the windows are huge so they felt like they're inside a big car when it is really just an impreza. I guess you should have went with the Impreza and I should have gone with the mazda 3 sport. But really you will start to appreciate the functions you have in the car. Maybe when If I went with the Mazda 3, my friends will complain about the backseats lol.

+Bleu Ray Entertainment The Mazda 3 Hatchback is a more sensible choice for active people I think... It can fit bikes and snowboards and ... inside. When I finally decide to get a new one, it will be the hatchback. No other ''cheap'' car on the market looks as good to me and I have been lucky with my sedan.

I was loving the way the car looked when I first saw it a few months ago, and was hoping to get one to replace my wife's aging Corolla. But then the Corolla was about to die, we needed something fast, and simply couldn't afford this car new. Also when we drove it, it just seemed TOO small. Trunk/hatch area was too small, and my knee always hit the side of the vertical center stack on the dash. Not good. We ended up going with a 2014 CX-5, and I'm glad we did. More room, not a ton bigger outside, and MUCH more power and torque from the 2.5L Skyactiv engine.

My favourite small crossover

The most equiped version with big wheels and tires seems to be like a great daily driver with style... It looks really good, very urban. I have heard that the rear seats area is not too spacious, actually it falls within the less roomy models in the market or below. In any way, as I said, for me it is a daily driver, something above a sedan or hatchback... I feel like it is a Japanese version of a fancy Mercedes small crossover or any other sofisticated European crossover, and that is good. It is fuel efficient, is very elegant and very appealing... It may not have off road capabilities like other Crossovers, but that AWD system will be great for all weather driving in the city or highway. It is a good car to consider if looking for a good looking and functional car for everyday driving to work, to grosery store, to shopping, to short trips, etc... If you need something roomier with better cargo space and more off road perfomance, get a CX-5, if you want to stay with Mazda.

I'm pretty sure all 2015+ cars come with reverse cameras. I haven't seen come across a company charging extra for it.

+Jeremy The federal mandate begins in 2018. VW, just for one, doesn't include a rear-camera on the Jetta in the base model -- you have to move up the range to get the camera.

Integrated wonder technology into small package, indeed. But why rear door windows have to be so high and narrow. When you drive in such car, it would tend to push in active life style and view around is hindered by this swoopy design. My thought only.
