I am wondering if this will fit the 2021 model, as I heard that some sensor component has been changed in 2021 model. Please let me know, thanks!

We have not been contacted about fitment issues on the 2021 models at this time. Thanks!

How often does the airfilter need to be replaced? Or do we use and k&n cleaner and reoil it?
@mishimoto7 ай бұрын
every 10-15k miles depending on driving style and location. We suggest using the Mishimoto branded cleaner and reoil kit, not our competitors ;)

@mishimoto okay will do! I just bought it from your site! Do how know how much oil Oz it takes to refill the mx5 2016 air filter? I know there is a specific amount we need to use Thank you again!!!
@mishimoto7 ай бұрын
No specific amount. Apply an even coat over the filter media. As long as the filter is not oversaturated to the point where it's dripping off the filter, you should be good to go.

Goodwin Racing as well as Flying Miata have found no gains by changing out the stock intake and airbox. Mazda did a very good job with the stock air box and filter design.
@jeffrbake2 жыл бұрын
@@albertflasher3533 I wonder if this holds true for a turbo or SC Miata. The stock intake has issues with vacuum levels when you start pushing things.
@alangross22772 жыл бұрын
@@jeffrbake I turbo-charged my 2018 and the only reason i had a new airbox and filter was due to the plumbing. I can't speak about NC's....but Brian Goodwin probably can. Goodwin Racing sponsors one of the Miata Forums.

After the installation of the air box i got a fault code p0171 on my 1.5 miata , dont know what is the problem everything seems to be done as you showed in the video.
@mishimoto4 жыл бұрын
This appears to be a lean code, you will want to check the connections from the MAF housing to throttle body. This is usually a result of unmetered air getting to the engine from somewhere after the MAF sensor.
@loiclrnt4 жыл бұрын
@@mishimoto damn are you sure it fit on a 1.5 litre? I see one your website for 2l only, but on racing beat Europe they say for 1.5 and 2.0... Don't now if it's really different...

Did your Miata not come with a washer fluid reservoir, or did you folks leave this step (bottle removal) out of the list of instructions.
@mishimoto7 жыл бұрын
Hey BigHesh81, installation does not require removal of the washer fluid reservoir! Ours may have been missing because we were prototyping our aluminum washer reservoir which you can check out here: www.mishimoto.com/mazda-miata-washer-reservoir-2016.html For more information on the intake install, check out our guide here: cdn.mishimoto.com/media/productpdf/MMAI-MIA-16_InstallGuide.pdf

@mishimoto4 жыл бұрын
We have not ran into any issues with the 2019 models, we are however still looking into the 2020 models
If you are cleaning and re-oiling yes, that is required. Out of the box, additional oil is not required.

Can I at least hear a video of the so called aggressive induction noise this kit claims to have? I accept that there won't be much performance gains, but I'm tuned so hopefully that would remedy any non-gains.

I have read that once this is fitted, and EDU remap is required: *"Due to the size of the intake pipe, a re-tune of your vehicle's ECU is necessary to keep your engine running safe and extracting the most horsepower from the added airflow."* www.racingbeateurope.com/mx5-2016-19-nd-cold-air-intake-kit-made-by-mishimoto--15--20-2359-p.asp

@@mishimoto There is a 2.0L engine in Europe as well, its the same as in the US. The old 2016 150+ BHP, and the new 2019 180+ bhp. Maybe that mention is for the 1.5L only?
