Thank you so much for this post. I just finished my 2019 Mercedes Benz GLC300 oil change. It was exactly the same as your video and it was pretty easy. I have done my fair share of oil changes on Hondas and Toyotas and I must say, this was as easy as any. I love the location of the oil filter and how easy it is to access it. And for the first time ever, I completed my oil change without spilling any oil. :) Thank you for thorough step by step instruction. I used the same Mobil oil and 27mm socket from Harbor Freight. I ordered a filter from Amazon and worked great.

I have been an amateur mechanic for 40 years, working professionally for 5 of them in maintaining and repairing autos of nearly every make. This is by far one of the best videos that I have seen on performing an oil change for a MB GLC300. Although this was for a MY 2016, it applies to all model years. Was a pleasure to watch. Reminded me of working on cars with my dad and an old friend of mine who I also used to call "Pops". Meticulous detail, very patient and thoughtful. An excellent reference, which I have saved to my favorites for future use!!! I especially like the part where the instructor (dad...lol) shows you how to reset service indicator thru the dashboard functions - something the dealer is often times hesitant to tell you. 😉 The only thing that I will reiterate here (as this was also amended/corrected by the original author in response to a question posted by a viewer), is that you should always replace the copper crush washer on the oil drain plug before reapplying it to the oil pan. It is very inexpensive and critically important to ensure no leaks "down the road ". As the author states, in a pinch I have simply flipped it over and reused it, but its best to always replace with a new one. If you make friends with your parts guy at your local dealer they may just give a couple to you for free or for a few cents each. If not, you can buy them here: www.amazon.com/dp/B083FH7WH2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_Smm4FbRNXHCGP And here are the factory-grade oil filters as well: www.amazon.com/dp/B00NQYXYLY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_zpm4FbJGSSW81 I have seen other posts here asking for other repairs/maintenance tasks for the MB GLC300. I would also like to see things like transmission fluid/filter change, spark plugs, etc. Thanks again for the effort expended and intent in making and posting this video. I am always amazed and encouraged at/by the way people help each other on KZbin.!

Ok this is the best oil change video period. Quality is excellent, everything is clear and well lit. You explain everything calmly and expertly. Not to mention that's the cleanest drain plug removal and oil filter extraction I've ever seen. Absolute perfection. Very good work my good sir.

Pumping from the top gets more oil out that draining from the plug. Try it then remove the pan. You will be surprised

Watched again and I appreciate it. No mention of the crushable washers. You can get a bag of them for about $10. They should be used each time for oil change.

Nice Job. Though not many of us left to get the John Wayne reference. I am going with the 0w 20 in winter and 0w30 for summer also with the MB 229.5 specification. So my wife does not go "What happened to my fuel economy". Though I prefer a little higher viscosity for turbo cars for better heat tolerance in the small turbo passages. So many people over tighten the plastic filter housing and drain plug thank you for bringing it up. Glad this car has a dipstick!

You make John Wayne sound like a real ass hole. Great video. Thanks to guys like you there's no need to be afraid to work on these upscale cars. Love my GLC300. they were going to charge me $300 (oil change) plus $400 hundred to replace my spark plugs and air filters. I did it all for under $200.00 and I didn't have to deal with my mother in law. Great weekend :^) Many thanks to you for sharing.

hello brother thank you so much for the video. i have the same car and it is so new to me. i would like to ask you if where you are is cold state or not. i’m in saudi and the mercedes dealer told me to change transmission oil at 28,000 mile as regular service... i wonder and have concern if any car changes at this very low mileage even though here in saudi. temperature in summer is so hot 118 to 122 F ... i never heard a car to change it as this low mileage is what they say is right? i think it is crazy at 28,000 miles must change transmission oil please as you drive the car we can learn from you how to service it and what we should do...thank you so much bro
@erionferdulli56124 жыл бұрын
Well most of the manufactures recommend replacing the fluid at 30,000 - 60,000 so it depends all on the car brand. Mercedes is a great car but, it is more sensitive than other cars like Toyota or Honda that require fluid change at 60,000 miles even thought it’s not a great idea to let a car pass 50,000 miles with an “old” fluid. It’s better to change your Mercedes fluid often because as I said they are sensitive, but if you don’t neglect them and if you give them proper maintenance than you will have no issues. So changing the fluid at the 30,000 miles is perfect. I hope I might helped you even though you did not ask me but I have some knowledge so I hope this might help you. Enjoy your car sir!!

This is from the service sheet (USA) - Automatic transmission - oil and filter change engine 177 (AMG models) every 30 thousand miles. For engine 274, 276, transmission 725.0, 742.2(hybrid) every 60 thousand miles.
