2016 Mercedes-Benz Metris Head Unit Swap

My 2016 Mercedes-Benz Metris Passenger Van is a very versatile vehicle, but the factory head unit is pathetic.
So I swapped it out for a Pioneer DMH-W2770NEX, which was the cheapest wireless CarPlay unit with a capacitive touch display I could find.
I made this video to show other Metris owners how easy it is to DIY the swap. I bought it from Crutchfield because they give you detailed instructions specific to your vehicle.

I'm still using the mic that came with the Pioneer head unit. It works okay for phone calls etc. but it's not great with Siri

Do you remember where you spliced the reverse camera wire? My backup camera works when I press on the icon but not when I put the van in reverse.

I did not splice the wire. I bought a pre-made wiring harness from Crutchfield 7:29 and it was just plug and play. My backup cam works as intended, when shifting into reverse gear. Even with the new camera the dealer installed because of the recall, although the aspect ratio is a little off with that one, but still usable.
