Hey 67pooch, sadly no all of the colours are set by Mercedes at their factory. I think it’s also a limitation of the multimedia system that gives the command too

I found yesterday, if you're sitting in the passenger seat, and call up Hey Mercedes, and request to turn on heated seat, mercedes knows the voice came from the passenger seat and will enable passenger seat heating!!! MBUX vocal commands are great, they can turn on/off A/C, de-ice windscreen and close air recirculation so you can avoid the smell from the truck exhaust in front of you without touching anything :)

After many hours of driving I’ve discovered that temperature and controls for it can be displayed on the MBUX! Touch temperature on the display and it will pop a new screen with fans, temperature and Auto Mode, looks very sleek on my GLC💖

Handy tip about the radio station presets, thank you. I use the traffic sign assist in cruise control a lot and it's very useful - the only problem is it can misread the speed limits on the back of lorries as a road sign - I've often had the car suddenly drop down to 50mph on a motorway for no reason at all - and yes, it even changed it to 80mph once and I don't think any magistrate would have believed my excuse for speeding as "the lorry did it!"

Ah awesome thank you! 🤓 Yes it can pick up signs on the back of lorries so I find it if it happens a lot, just toggle off Route Based Speed Adaption and then the speed is over to you and what you select 👍🏼

@stevedavenport6028 thank you! Sadly you can’t change that, I’ve got it on mine but not seen any settings for it. Not all cars have it, depends on the specification. Make sure you have the key and kick your foot straight in and back out at the back of the car pretty swiftly without kicking your leg on the car. If you have it, the boot will open.

Hi Nick, thanks for the interesting videos, always very helpful to know the tips and tricks. We have a 2022 GLS 450 with bench seats. I wonder if there is anyway to adjust the angle of the headrest in the second row. I know how to adjust up and down but not sure about forwards/backwards. I put two car seats in the second row and the headrest is kind of in the way. Another question I have is that we bought the car in the USA, the temperature is in Fahrenheit, and I only work in Celsius, is there anything in setting that we can change from F to C? Thanks

Hey Jane no worries! Ooo very nice! No sadly it’s just up and down as far as I’ve seen when I filmed one before. Again for the Celsius and Fahrenheit, sadly no I’ve not seen a setting for this before when filming in any Mercedes models. Best thing to do is ask if a dealership with Mercedes technicians to see if they have the ability to change it.

But to access it again, on the home screen, find the profile selector (usually a picture of a person top left / right) and find something along the lines of Protect User Content or something. Just toggle it off from there.

Awesome tutorial Nick! Just bought myself a Benz and this was very concise. Didn't miss a beat. Question please.. How do I get my screen to display full screen when using my navigation via Android auto as it seems to only use it up but so much?

Thank you! I wish it was full screen too but there are other manufacturers who have come across the same issue before. The reason is because MBUX (also known as NTG 6) on Mercedes is available in two screen sizes, 7” & 10.25”. When designing and coding I’m led to believe that you can only choose one (to maintain compatibility) for everything. So to make sure it works on all models, Mercedes of course had to go with the 7” version, which is perfect for 7” owners but of course leads to a cropped experience if you have a 10.25” screen. NTG 7 found in some new cars have higher faster processors and have one screen size leading to a full screen experience on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Hope that explains potentially why it’s like that on some cars!

Oh really I’ve not heard of that before…I do aim to try and produce a video of that in the future but I’d just use any sort of leather cleaner really. I honestly haven’t tried any so at this moment in time I can’t recommend any. But…the first place I’d look at would be Autoglym as they always seem to be good 👍🏼

Nick - Thank you for your videos, I recently purchased E53 AMG - Can you make a video that tells what all the screens mean and do. Like in this video at 5:55 on the right side of the cluster there is some sort of bulls eye what is that telling me I dont know what its displaying - things like that I have not found what they are telling me. so many options - I also noticed I have a standard feature call Power rear-window sunshade I havent found that switch. Any chance up doing reviews like a full cluster display overview?

It’s not something Apple CarPlay does as far as I’ve seen. I didn’t realise Android Auto could even do that though, wonder if it’s something to do with “Coolwalk”. I remember hearing of an Android update a few months ago that I want to check out somewhen.

The assist mode feature allows you to reset certain features like service a oil change, and some other items that I have not seen yet because I cannot figure out how to go into it. Oh the hidden service menu? Sadly no only Mercedes technicians know how to get in there. It apparently lets you tell the car it’s had a service I think.

Hey ViRsxRespect, thank you! Ah that’s an automatic process. If you have album artwork that’s the correct size to be displayed and if the car’s compatible, it’ll come through. I find it works better though when plugged in 🤓👍🏼

No worries! I haven’t, I don’t think there is a way to turn off adding to playlists. You should be able to add any video to any playlist on KZbin as far as I’m aware. The only thing I’m currently changing behind the scenes is the what videos are in the playlists I’ve made but I have not turned anything off.

Oh Mercedes don’t pay me to make these videos 😅 these are all written, planned, filmed and edited by me 👍🏼 Mercedes me doesn’t draw that much power from the car but of course if you’re going away long term, it’s best to purchase a trickle charger to ensure it starts successfully when you’re back. It’s borderline, it might be okay for one month but any longer I’d definitely say to get one

Hey SQ, wasn’t planning on making a video just on the headrests but it depends on the specification. If it’s electric, you just adjust it using the buttons on the door. If it’s manual, in between the lever you pull to get into the back to fold the seat forward there’s a button there to adjust it up/down

Oh that’s Traffic Light view 🤓 It would be in Sat nav settings I’m sure, Home Navigation Settings (bottom right) Advanced Maybe “View” but have a look for Augmented Reality and Traffic Light view, just toggle that off per user profile (if you have multiple profiles)

Thank you! It depends on the specification not all cars can do it, it depends if you have KEYLESS-GO or not, the one with the keyless access point on the handle. Could be the battery in the key or something, it might be a little lower than it should be...just a thought.

@@npoleary thanks for the fast reply. Well, a one year old car with the highest available spec at the time in the UK. Of course I have KEYLESS-GO. That is why I don't get it why its not working. I tried both keys, and non of them seams to be working. So I don't know. I need to keep using the Mercedes Me up for opening and closing the windows but its a little more fiddley and I need to have an internet connection.

Not sure then, if you get in touch with your local Mercedes they should be able to advise and let you know. Sadly there aren’t any settings for this in the menus on the cars

I would have thought that if you’re on the favourites menu, if you change the station does it not change the favourites? EQE’s on Radio I’m sure have the Radio screen labelled Favourites, FM/DAB, AM, Tune In Radio at the top. Sadly I don’t have my car at the moment and I haven’t got a visit planned at my local dealer so I can’t test it.

Thank you! Sadly I wouldn’t know how it works if a car has been exported. Cars are only designed for the country that they were made for so it’s highly likely Mercedes me will not work when taken outside of it’s home country and the same goes for maps too. Only thing I can suggest is get in touch with Mercedes to see if they can offer any solutions.

Most cars have USB or USB-C ports. Pretty sure there was at least one USB-C port in the middle of a C-Class when I last reviewed it. For a 12V socket, there’s one in the passenger footwell (top right).

I’ve never tried sorry, the car’s I have bought have always had tinted windows in the rear so have never had them tinted.

No worries! 🤓 It depends if you’re using Apple CarPlay or not. If you’re using Apple CarPlay, I’d reccomend Siri but if you’re just using MBUX, stick with Hey Mercedes 😎

No sadly not All cars out there have to start in their default driving mode Mercedes have quite a few but their default is Comfort, you can change it pretty quickly after starting though!

I’m pretty sure Mercedes models should retain the settings when using a profile, however it might go back to default settings if you’re using Guest. That’s what it’s like on mine anyway 🤓 If that doesn’t work just get in touch with Mercedes, I’m sure they’ll be able to help 🤓 Google Translate: Je suis presque sûr que les modèles Mercedes doivent conserver les paramètres lors de l'utilisation d'un profil, mais ils peuvent revenir aux paramètres par défaut si vous utilisez Invité. Nick, yes that is exactly it. What happens is when you hit the 10k miles It triggers a service reminder. On the 2022 and 23 models and older, there is a way to toggle between the buttons on the steering wheel and go into the service mode reset feature. I have purchased the service a and service b that will trigger at 10K and 20K miles. But if I keep the car longer than 20,000 mi I intend to do my own service and do my own resetting of the service message. If I have to go out and buy a ODB2 tool to reset this I Will do that. I love the technology and mbox and the non-textile approach that Mercedes has taken. But to limit us from doing our own basic service, is telling the consumer that we are not qualified to do a simple reset.😅 I live in California Southern and it gets very hot and traffic is very congested. A 4-cylinder turbo engine, going 10,000 mi even with the new Mobil 1 X2 is pushing it. That's why I am wanting to do my own service after the clock throws the service message. And of course this is after 20,000 mi. Thanks Nick for your input and also great videos.

If it’s just the normal dials hold the back button closest the driver’s door and it’ll reset Or if you have a different design, press Home, swipe across to themes / styles (can’t recall the name) and choose classic

@@npoleary Hi Nick. The image I was trying to get was the twin dial with speed on the left and Rev counter on the right. After further looking I could not find that setting(image) I did look under styles and all there is set in that option is regular (blue colouring) Sport (Yellow colouring) and Supersport (Enhanced yellow colouring) There are no images under styles on my car. I did look under trip and found a single spped and a single rev counter image but not togethewr as shown on your video. Another problem I have is that after I paired my android with the car and went into telephone and then into contacts, ONLY Mercedesme is showing and none of my contacts on the phone. A bit puzzled by this.

If you only have a single dial then your screen is 7”. There was an option for a 10.25” screen if I remember from new which is bigger and allows two dials. For the contacts, make sure you “Allow Contacts” when connecting your phone via Bluetooth. You might need to re-pair the phone again if the pairing process was interrupted. If you’re sure it’s Allowed, make sure that your contacts are not on your sim or in Google. They need to be on your phone for a car to recognise them 🤓

The last setting I have on the far right is SERVICE. Whether settings is accessible I do not know. Maybe that also comes with the 10.5 screen version. Thanks once again.

Hi Nick, I have a 2021 Mercedes C Class Convertible, the DAB radio doesn’t have any of the station logos on it (just the default icons), is there a trick to get these to display (it seems to be automatic on Audi / VW cars)?

Hey David, no sadly not, it’s automatic and should appear there on their own. You could try a reset of MBUX to see if it forces a refresh. Failing that I’d probably just suggest to get in touch with your local Mercedes, hopefully they can help

Hey Nick, Could you do an in depth overview of the mbux system in the facelift a class? I upgraded to the facelift model and I feel like some features are missing or I can't find them. Ex: when in any other "theme" than classic, there's no quick way to change the song you're listening too. You can't show media (or any other screen) in that theme, and the touchpad was removed so you can't swipe it either

Absolutely I will do soon! Got loads of content lined up for that over the next few months! I’ve noticed those things too, Classic is the only way to change song on the steering wheel. Yes that’s right Media is only on that one, touchpad was removed but you can change track a couple of ways: Say “Next Track” just as it is and it’ll change or Swipe up from the bottom on the left screen and you can change track there (hidden menu I found the other day!)

Yes, it actually comes up with an automatic prompt when connecting Bluetooth 🤓 Traditionally iPhones weren’t able to do it with older iOS versions but they have been able to over the past couple of years

Not that I’ve seen, I haven’t heard of a feature where it’ll chime for saved locations. You can save them, but not seen any form of alert when you’re approaching

No sadly not, most Mercedes are like that, I’ve not seen a way to make the screen bigger. There is sometimes a wide view but then you won’t get the wheel lines on the screen. You can usually just spin the wheel in the middle if I remember when the camera is on

Hey Gonzalo, ooo very nice! Not sure what you mean, the exterior side mirrors? I’ve never seen an interior mirror fold Is it the outside ones? They’re controlled on the main centre screen, HOME, SETTINGS, VEHICLE if I remember 🤓

#9: A little more detail: If cruise control is not active, RESUME 1-click turns it on at the speed last set. 2-clicks turns it on and sets it to the speed limit. BUT ALSO: when cruise control is active, RESUME 1-click will change it to the speed limit. AND ALSO there is one more cool RESUME detail: If cruise control is active, and DISTRONIC has stopped you to speed zero (e.g. at a light), the car will not proceed when the car in front of you starts pulling away - you have to tap the accelerator. HOWEVER, the RESUME button will also cause your car to proceed (and does not adopt the speed limit as it would if you were moving).

When I am driving (over 50 ish) I am getting a double 'ding' sound, Sometimes when I cross or get near the white line, even when I use the indicators. Hey John, it could be a number of things Next time it happens have a look if your speed limit sign flashes when it beeps. If it does then you probably have Speed Limit Assist set to Visual & Audible

If you have built-in sat nav then you should be able to! It depends of course on the model and if you’re using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto which run off the phone.

Up until today I've had to press the double arrow button and then Swipe left or right to change orders. I didn't realise until today that you can just Swipe it without pressing down.
