This year, everything could have been different if OKC had not lost the series 3-1 to the Warriors. Maybe they would have won the final. That potential was 100%. Durant would not leave, there would be no Warriors dynasty. It is a bit sad for the Westbrook Durant duo, but I am happy for Curry. I am a fan of Westbrook and Curry. It was good for at least one of them.

The 2015-16 Spurs were one of the best teams ever in terms of adjusted net rating. How the fuck they lost!? Idk...
@sportstalkonly1442 Жыл бұрын
Idk either but I guess it shows how good the 73-9 warriors were because they beat okc after being down 3-1. Kd and russ were pretty good vs the spurs tho I always loved when they matched up in the playoffs

i always thought it was weird that they lost this series but one thing the 2016 playoffs showed us was that when the thunder played smart basketball nobody could really mess with them. They played smart basketball in this series and they played smart basketball in the first four games of the warriors series. Not only were they up 3-1 on the warriors they were dominating them. Then they went back to playing inefficient hero ball and they choked the series away..

The Thunder matured and we’re athletically superior to the Spurs

@@mauricedavis1740 You are on the surface apparently. The critical game for series was Game 5. Guess who took the Spurs? Russell Westbrook paid the biggest price in the 2010s. If you watch closely Durant, he obviously did not believe this team. He admitted later by himself. On the other hand, GSW can dominate nobody. Great team, excellent shooters but no mentality and resiliency. Only reason of blowing 3-1 lead was Durant. Oh man. The boy is soft. You can't understand it now, a week later, maybe months later. This was the greatest lesson for Presti and OKC. And we assume we did not make the same mistake this time. Hopefully it'll go well.

46:27 a play that truly sums up Westbrook's desire to hustle on the court. He really earned the victory in Game 5 with his performance in the final four minutes in particular.

49:15 this play in Game 6 helped spark OKCs dominance until the 4th quarter started. Then, at 53:44 Aldridge wants no business of Durant running into the lane for a dunk to give a 15pt lead with under 5min to go. That gave the crowd energy and then Roberson chased down Leonard to prevent a fastbreak score. Westbrook won OKC Game 5, scoring or assisting on 9 of the last 13pts OKC scored in the final 3min 42sec (see 45:01 in video), while San Antonio choked the game away (like in Game 4) relying on Parker's one midrange shot and 1/2 at the foul line to finish out an important Game 5. Truly a horrible way to treat the home crowd in what would be the last game played in SA when these teams were "at their peak." My friend in high school who liked San Antonio told me it felt like OKC had fresher legs in most of the 4th quarters that series and so they out hustled SA for rebounds and played better defence making it easier for them to produce winning plays. Parker, in particular played poorly late in games compared to Westbrook in Games 4, 5 and 6. Every series between OKC-SA (2012, 2014 and 2016) during Obama's second term as president, would end in six games. Green in Game 1, Waiters in Game 4, Roberson in Game 6 shows how role players often play better at home,

16:30 Good grief, Chris Webber was so annoying here. The dude was so salty that the Spurs lost even though he's supposed to be an unbiased commentator. It was clear as day that he had money on this game, smfh.

I feel u, he may have overreacted just a lil bit. But also, who knows better than him about how bad officiating can lead to your team ultimately losing a close game? You can feel the pain and anger in his voice stemming from how his team was screwed back in 2002 WCF.

I agree with Anthony here, dude was part of possibly the biggest screw job in NBA history, he must’ve been reliving the moment through them. But yeah, I think it was over the top

San Antonio should've won this series. As good as okc was they didn't have the depth or togetherness that spurs did. Sometimes the talent wins though. Westbrook and Durant together were hard to fucking stop

@@cassidyerickson7408agree with the point of depth and togetherness but i doubt that this old spurs could match GSW speed and spacing for the whole series, i know they did beat GSW in the season by holding them under 80pts once , but sustaining the performance for a whole series is completely different shit, and the energy and body that Thunder had provided is the reason why they won 3 times from that gsw
