Other than the FWD it's a great car. I'm sure that some will say that the new Maxima is terrible, but that's to be expected. It doesn't matter if it's a Pagani Huayra or a Toyota Corolla, there's always those people that say something negative.

So I bought one last week. And to use your favorite word, I like it "overall." There are 3 main things that I don't like: The width between the drivers door and middle console makes it not as roomy for my knees. No 360 camera in the SR and the ride is bumpier than I'm used to.

ChinnuWoW Weight transfer to the rear tires under acceleration reduces grip, and consequently, maximum potential acceleration in FWD cars. It's not really a problem in low power enthusiast cars like the civic si and the golf gti, which don't have any problem putting down all their power, but when you get into the 300+ hp range it can start to hinder performance. With more horsepower, the weight over the front tires decreases while the need for grip increases, this quickly wrecks potential acceleration in high hp FWD cars. This is why the golf r and gla45 AMG have front-biased awd drivetrains, there just isn't enough grip in the front tires alone.

300HP and a CVT, Cvt tranmissions have really come a long way since a few years ago. That used to be too much power for CVT's to handle reliably. Wish CVT still had more gears to choose from, but its kinda cool we are getting better CVT. A lot of people just didn't believe in them.

Pretty cool, I think it's an improvement over the last gen, which felt like a boat when I drove it, though the power delivery was fun. @Robby94LS9 жыл бұрын
Yeah I guess that's the best way. Yeah I've driven a lot of low HP FWD cars that don't tq steer at all (because they didn't HAVE much!) but they'd understeer a lot. I've also driven FWD that don't understeer TOO bad but have more power so tq steer so bad you can't keep a straight line while getting on it! Like the Focus ST oversteers but gets a bit of tq steer.

***** Motor Trend just tested the Maxima. 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. Despite having a worse official power-to-weight ratio, the Audi S4 gets to 60 in 4.4 seconds due to AWD, faster transmission and a very conservative bhp rating (really more like 375, not 333). Of course, the S4 cost more so they're not really market competitors.
