2016 Nissan Maxima with 242k miles. Bought it at 33K miles used. Changed the spark plugs at 200k miles, shocks and struts at 200k miles. Battery at 210k miles, and just changed my serpentine belt at 242k miles. I get valvoline oil changes and transmission oil changes religiously. Primarily highway (Hershey PA - Capitol heights MD - NJ), and ultimately very happy with the Maxima. Was so worried about the CVT Transmission but I guess if you take care of it it’ll take care of you. Mind you I’ve been in 2 accidents and it’s still good.

It only has 20k now in 2022 and as expected no issues but what I can say is that the '07 had far better gas mileage than my '20, it has about the same awesome power under the hood. It does have many upgrades all around. I'm very happy with it overall, I'm considering doing some modifications like a resonator and a splitter.

@@Baysidereviews I gotcha. I ended up buying a 2016 maxima after scouring for one with a good transmission service history. It’s unbelievable how many people just don’t ever take it in. Nearly every maxima I ran through carfax came back with ZERO transmission services. Even the ones with 100k+ miles. No wonder they’re always going out

If you can get service records, review them close and then decide. Extended warranty might be a good idea as well

What is "road rash"? Im at over 20K and i have nothing like that. Is it factory paint?
@Baysidereviews3 жыл бұрын
I drive a lot of highway miles each time I go to work thru 4 states. So all the paving, salting and other stuff just damages the paint over time. I heard the term years ago and it stuck.

Did it accelerate like a powerful sports car, as its earlier models do? This is what MAXIMA is known and liked for. "A 6 cylinder beast that's very fuel efficient too". Its acceleration is very responsive. Just wondering if NISSAN maintained it in the latest models of 2016 onwards? Appreciated!

I test drove a 2020 dodge charger r/t with a 5.7 hemi , Toyota Avalon and 2020 Camry XSE V6 and Impala LTZ Accord v6. All of them Felt very cheap compared to Maxima . It's little details like the paddles being mounted on the columns compared to the steering wheel that sets the Maxima apart. Very beautiful car.

I bought my 16 maxima in January. I been using regular 87 gas. Nobody told me recommended is 91. Should I keep using 87 or switch over to 91? How should I switch over? Use up all 87 then put in 91?

you can start immediately, no issues with it mixed.

@Juel4rmbk2 жыл бұрын
It def depends where you are. I’m in NY and a lot of gas station don’t have premium (91). Thus why I have to settle for mid grade (89). Which I’ve noticed that allows me to have more miles per the gallon.
@mitchl.9207 Жыл бұрын
It'll retard the timing a bit, but no harm done, you'll just lose some power. If the car starts to ping at lower octane, you can increase it, but probably have other issues, like carbon deposits/dirty fuel injectors.

It's crazy how these car are still having transmission issues! I bought a brand new 2012 Maxima SV with Sport Package and babied the heck out of it. Transmission went out @ 103k! Paid 5k to replace the transmission smh, and it started slipping again @ 135k. Recently got rid of it and got a 2022 Accord 2.0t . Never ever ever will I buy a Nissan again, nor will I ever buy another car with a CVT! Do yourself a favor and avoid Nissans until they get rid of the CVTs, just not worth the headache!
