Being a guy who has both played baseball and softball at a college level, I can tell you that they are two entirely different games. A baseball player can never hit a good softball pitch (the angle is completely wrong and the pitch arrives even sooner than a baseball pitch due to shorter pitching distance), and softball players can never deal with the physical requirements of baseball like speed and raw power (one game is designed for a man's physicality in mind, while the other for a woman's). There is simply no point comparing the two unless you are the type to compare rugby and football, or ice and field hockey.
