2016 Subaru Crosstrek battery install

Do you need to register this battery with the cars computer? I can't get mine to start after replacing a faulty battery and starter

Did that solve the problem or did you end up having to change alternator as well? Curious what the symptoms were as I have a 2016 crosstrek as well. It will jump start fine and will run, but when you turn the car off then try to turn back on, it doesnt start again.

Yup fixed the issue, still on the original alternator. Good luck with your crosstrek.

Thanks for the video. I would encourage you, however, to explain a lot more about what you're doing and what basic terms mean. Things like "you want to take the negative end off first to avoid sparks" really only beg the question "how do I find the negative end"? Seems important! There's a bunch of these throughout, and although I did find this video helpful, it could have been 10x as helpful with more detailed explanation and some close-ups.
