my 06 has been an investment, 120,000 miles and still runs like a top and the value retention is amazing. i wasn't sure about the 16 when i first saw picture's either but it's certainly grown on me. I'll miss the trd options though

these trucks keep getting expensive as times passes, but for good reason, they keep getting better. I have a 2004 Single Cab PreRunner and a 2013 Single Cab 4X4 and they get the job done.

Had an 08 Tacoma a few months ago. Only reason I sold it was due to me having to move out of the country. Sold her for 18,500 and she only had 35,000 miles she was extremely pampered. First thing I did moving out here was place a order for the 2016. Sadly, I have still been having to wait but I know it will be worth it.

Awesome truck, I am looking to buy a TRD Off Road. GoPro's make awful dashcams I would have to say though. the looping mode is not suitable for a dashcam to record several hours or days worth of footage. You can get something like a mobius action cam with a go pro style mount that would work 100x better.

really want one of these trucks and to be honest, the one thing holding me back is there is no apple play. Honda already has it available in most of their touring trims and Toyota still doesn't have it. I will just have to wait to get it and hopefully Toyota puts it in 2017 models.

I went to a local dealer and drove one. I currently own a 2006 Tacoma that I have driven over 100,000 miles. I've loaded it, and towed a car trailer with some heavy cars on it from Southern California to Florida and back. I took the 2016 about 3 blocks and turned around and went back to the dealer. I found it to have less power, mainly on the bottom end. The big reason I turned around were the brakes. They SUCK... they Still SUCK. I've changed my 2006 some time ago to aftermarket brakes with Power Stop on the front, and disk brakes on the rear. Why with all of the great improvements Toyota still provides drums on the rear and marginal calipers on the front is beyond me. So for me, I'll take safety and keep my 2006 Tacoma. You had the chance Toyota... you blew it!

I was not under the impression that the off-road had special shocks tuned to going off-road. And the sport does not have bilstein shocks.

The Sport comes with Hitachi shocks, not Bilstein

Your right they are not bilstein. They changed them for 2016 they are now tokico blues. Just ran out to the truck and checked the shocks my self. Thanks for the feed back. :)

+Starvin Marvin $36K is low to average for a new truck. Similarly-equipped Chevy Colorados and GMC Canyons easily exceed $40K before taxes, title, and license. Almost all full-sized 4WD trucks are well over $50K. It boggles my mind how so many people can afford them. There must be a lot of guys in deep debt. That's the nice thing about Toyotas. I got a new 4Runner Sport with the 4.7 liter V-8 and all the options back in 2004 for $36,000. I am still driving that truck today, and it still looks and runs great - plus, it's still worth more than $11K.
