Clearly Dodge understands why people want a Muscle car. It looks fantastic. Its really comfortable. It can fit 4 adults. When you are on the track you are just hooliganing by sliding through all the corners. If you wanted a vehicle that will get you around the track under $40k, there are a lot better vehicles than these at doing that. But if you want to have a lot of fun in a comfortable car, than Dodge wins it.
@signkutter8 жыл бұрын
by that logic ...the Camaro is top pick if you only need two seats.
@vernonprice59868 жыл бұрын
+Kevin Smith I drove one for a couple weeks. For being such a massive, fat car it can BARELY fit adults in the back seat. BARELY. Very little legroom in the back. The body roll is horrendous, it makes the car very annoying to drive, it's very floaty and it feels like it's out of control all the time. You will absolutely have more fun on a track in the Camaro, and the Camaro is much better proportioned too, not to mention faster and better handling.
@vincentphillips52488 жыл бұрын
+Vernon Price 9 times out of 10 people are buying these cars for daily drivers not track cars
@vernonprice59868 жыл бұрын
Vincent Phillips I don't know why I have to point this out to so many people, but track data like lap times are not solely applicable on the track. It's an objective measurement that informs you as to how the car handles. REGARDLESS of where the pavement is. Doesn't matter if you track it or not, if the Camaro handles better on a track, then it handles better on the highway, on a back road, and in your driveway. And yes, that means it handles better while you're daily driving it, too.
@KevinSmith-qi5yn8 жыл бұрын
Drives better and drives faster are different things. You can make a car handle with a stiffer suspension, but your spine will hate you when you daily it.

Why do people insist on comparing the Challenger to the other two? I own one and love it. Handles the back roads of SoCal easily but it is a big as car. It seats 5, I put my wife and kids and all our luggage in it and drive anywhere for however long I want. It handles very well but you can't overcome physics. Camaros and Mustangs are for single and retired guys/girls. You aren't taking your kids anywhere if they are more than 6 yrs old. But they are smaller and easier to throw around. They are Pony cars, the Challenger is a Muscle car. It was never a Pony car, 1970 or 2017.

No doubt that the Camaro is the fastest car right now. I had a 2010 Camaro SS. I couldn’t see out of the damn thing, especially on tight, twisty (aka Fun) roads. The sixth gen is even worse, and more cramped inside. That’s why I have a 2017 Mustang GT now. Great visibility, more roomy and comfortable, and easier to live with every day. The fact that a 455 HP car that weighs 3600 Lbs. is faster than a 435 HP car that weighs 3700 Lbs. is no surprise. I’ll stick with my Mustang.

I leased a 2015 Mustang but ended up buying a 2015 Challenger. I really enjoyed both cars but, personally the Challenger rides better and you have more room inside vs the Mustang. It also looks better on the inside as well, with AC vents to the back. I'm 6'2 and I felt that the Mustang was too low to the ground vs the Challenger. They both are extremely nice, but ended up going with the Challenger... :)
@robertbrody40328 жыл бұрын
You don't have to be heavy to find the Mustang seats awful. I'm 6'3 and the seats are terrible for tall people as well. The Camaro is also tight, but a Challenger is best for taller folks. In fact it's one of the best.
@vernonprice59868 жыл бұрын
+Robert Brody Because it's the biggest overall, which is a downside, not a positive, IMO. I drove one for a few weeks and the size of the thing is just completely ridiculous. It is an actual land yacht. And you don't get the benefits of the huge exterior on the inside, either - it is a larger cabin than the others, but there is so much dead wasted space inside it's just stupid. The Challenger is a midsize economy car with a flashy looking Challenger body on it. So yeah, I'm also 6'3" and I fit in the Challenger fine, but I found the massive rear 3/4 blind spots dangerously obstructive, and the dash is so long and the hood is so high and also long that you can't see over it and you can't see the corners of the car. It's just big for no reason. So that plus the way it's easily the worst performing car here means I would never buy or recommend the challenger to anybody.
@signkutter92188 жыл бұрын
e agreed. I test drove a Challenger right before a Mustang and after the Camaro SS. The Challenger seemed designed to fulfill a completely different set of goals. The room afforded by the Challengers design was not nearly worth the penalty in performance IMO. I went with the SS.
@robertbrody40328 жыл бұрын
The size is a positive if you're tall. Period. I can't drive the Mustang comfortably. The Camaro is better, but back seats are terrible. I bought a Charger Hellcat which gets me a family car that crushes most cars on the road. Take a road trip in these cars and you'll understand why there's so much love for the retro king Challenger. Out in the real world, all of these cars can get it done, so go with style and comfort that works for you.

My opinion muscle cars don't have to handle to be honest, sports cars have to handle. I feel Ford and Chevrolet are so focused on making sports cars and Dodge/FCA are staying true to muscle heritage, thats why they say domestic not domesticated, the muscle/power, straight line power, retro look, and it's not so bad in handling for its size. But other than that they are all great cars!

The article also stated the build quality of the 2016 Mustang GT Premium is poor; "Inconsistent sheet-metal gaps and uneven trunk lids make a terrible impression." "Poor build quality is apparent from nose to tail."

All Three cars are sweet. I personally drive a 2016 Challenger. My biggest take away from this video was wondering how can these guys drive sitting so close to the steering wheel? In some shots it looks like their arms are tied up and the wheel is in their laps. If you drive fast you want around 18 inches between you in the wheel for a full air bag deployment, (read your manual) for control of the car you dont want to hug the wheel you want to be able to have either arm fully turn the wheel extended. In a panic turn you dont want an elbow to jam your chest or one arm to hang up the other. Dudes they are muscle cars not dump trucks. Steer them dont wrestle them.

245s make no sense to me. Neither do the 275s honestly but the problem is the scatpack only comes with 9" wheels and doesn't give you enough room to upgrade to wide enough tires. At least the SRTs, 9.5" wheels allow you to go a little bit more. Still don't like that about the cars, my biggest complaint.

I used to be a hard-core Ford guy before I started working Valet. The Camaro really changed my mind about Chevy so much that I bought a Camaro SS. I fit in in it at 6'3 pretty comfortably, although at the very limit of leg space. The interior blows the other two out of the water, especially the Mustang with its awful quality. The visibility never really bothered me for some reason, I just know it's not the best but it's not dangerous and I don't notice it at all. The reliability is great, especially compared to Mustang. My 6.2 also gets the best fuel mileage out of these 3. I work 25 miles from home and on open highway I got 33mpg going normal speed to work. Since I drive fast I average a lot less than that, but it does give you options. Very sad that the other two outsell my car 3x.

My guess is that Cars.com picked the 2016 Camaro as #1 since it's the newest model. Duh.
@coureurdebois9 жыл бұрын
or it was just better at handling, felt the lightest and was the lightest, was the most communicative, had the best steering, offered best performance and did not need to look retro.
@cadsux9 жыл бұрын
+justin bouche You forgot more horsepower, higher price tag, Cadillac underpinnings... Thanks, that's what I meant by "newest". What's the point of being "new" if they didn't improve anything? Last year, Mustangs outsold Camaro because it was "new", and most auto editors preferred the Mustang. Now the Camaro is "new". Wish I could own all three, but 1 will do for now...
@joseayala91619 жыл бұрын
no they picked the camaro because its better and thats all.
@coureurdebois9 жыл бұрын
cadsux and a fully loaded mustang will be 45K a fully loaded SS will run you 48K so 3K difference. considering GM and ford said more than 60% of their mustang / camaro (also F150 and silverado) models leave the factory fully optioned i dont think you should be buying a 45K GT if you cant afford 3K more. and i did not mention the extra power / torque, bigger brakes as standard, better MPG, HUD, MR control, and digital gauge cluster included for that extra 3K.
@cadsux9 жыл бұрын
justin bouche That's what "..." is for. Strangely enough, Cars.com stated, not better stopping power, road manners, nor infotainment controls, and equally "fun to drive".

Bryan R I know this is several months old but man right now you can get a leftover GT premium with a handling package on it out the door for about 34 35 Grand
@brabus32956 жыл бұрын
The Comaro won because it out-performed the Mustang and Challenger. It had the best fuel economy, quickest quarter mile acceleration, quickest 0-60 mph acceleration, quickest distance going from 0-60 and 60-0 in the brake test, more comfortable than the Mustang, and better track performance. There you go Ford fanboys!

They pulled the trigger on that car to quick it's fucking ugly, yea the interior is leaps and bounds better than last gen but I can't look at it without feeling disappointed smh and to think all the Chevy fans where talking mad shit about the mustang last year...
@thedoffman66648 жыл бұрын
+jorge leon I just got out of a 2014 Mustang and I can say I made the right choice switching to a Camaro 2016. Its way better, the Interior cleaner less junk on the dash and also an all around better experience with control and power.
@FACKJORG338 жыл бұрын
+TheDoffman what model mustang did you have? I currently have a RT plus with the super track pack and thinking about switching into a gt premium with the performance pack...I drove one the other day and loved the way it drove I personally don't like the appearance of the new camaros and puts me off from buying them do like the interior tho
@Jassari96q88 жыл бұрын
the interior is one of the best things about the 2016 camaro, especially if you have it in leather. I test driven the car today and its a badass. looks even better in person than it looks in photos. Aesthetics are a very subjective matter, you might not find the interior very attractive but to me it looks better than that of the two others. Simple, clean, elegant, and easy to use.

Scat Pack vs an ordinary GT and SS? Get the GT Performance Pack and 2017 1LE Camaro then the Scat Pack will be leagues behind in the performance spectrum!
@theeALister8 жыл бұрын
They have to include the scat pack or the challenger won't even be relevant in the discussion. Which also illustrates why this competition is mostly a two car race.

@silviamills52185 жыл бұрын
The Mustang and the Camaro where ok but the Challenger was really out of it's element, the Camaro and Mustang would be considered "pony cars", they are sort of a group of muscle cars that are made to also handle well in addition to going in a straight line. The Challenger would not be considered a "pony car". It's more just designed for straight line speed, which it is really good. It's not designed to handle that great though, it's sort of a "road boat".
@sameshtdiffday76847 жыл бұрын
I don think any of us will drive any of these cars on a legit track............the most you will ever do is maybe a little race with your friends or if someone pulls up to you and gets a little race but personally the challenger
