The hottest GTI ever been launched: The 2016 VW Golf GTI Clubsport with 265 PS (Overboost 290 PS) and 350 Nm of torque. Only equipped with front wheel drive traction is not the best, but the slip differential will give you a smile on your face.
Buy it? Maybe a GTI Performance will do (almost) the same job, even though the Clubsport looks very hot.

Clubsport all the way. For anyone interested in actual driving pleasure this will be the best Golf ever with it's much more driver-focused suspension, chassis and steering than any GTI or R out there. Unless drag-racing from a standstill or driving like a nutter in reduced traction conditions is your thing, the Clubsport is the way to go. Has the R engine and turbo and looks a million times better and more special than its brothers, lovely...

+Idontwantausernamist I fell in love, too. I like the design all the way around, including that rear wing and "clubsport" designation on the sides. The wing and skirts bring you a small downforce and combined with the attached Bridgestone Potenza S001 (225/40 R18) you had fairly enough traction to go "wild" on the street. I have to praise the slip differential, the GTI felt very stable and neutral even in narrow edges and curves. Steering is also absolutely okay, although I wish that alcantara steering wheel maybe one inch smaller. The "R" is recognizable in the GTI Clubsport: Engine and taillights are borrowed from the AWD brother. I will upload at least one clip of this funny moments in beautiful landscape.

+exoroxx For someone like me, which I was never excited about any Golf's looks, to fall in love at first sight with the Clubsport's design both interior and exterior goes to show how well they did it. One can clearly tell this one is something special, yet retains that classy Golf look at the same time. The E-VAQ has been praised already on the Cupra making it faster around corners than the R. People say there's just no understeer on a dry road and with all the sharpening and tightening on the chassis compared to the standard GTI and R which is more balanced, it must be such a peach to drive on twisty roads and on a track. I agree I wouldn't mind going smaller with the wheel but hey... It is as perfect as can be for a 300ps driving focused daily driver that also stands out from the competition looks-wise. Please do upload any nice material you got, vids and pics are quite limited other than that presentation on Portimao.

+Amir Eclass The clutch? From the DSG? Only the tires don't benefit from that action, albeit I didn't see any horrifying tire marks afterwards. It seems to be an general problem of these VAG FWD with their high amount of wheelspin, so the speedo (in result of the inevitably high rpm level) runs to a much higher value until the front wheels gain traction. It really doesn't look nice - indeed. But I've seen exactly the same thing in another GTI DSG launch clip. So - don't try this at home...?!
