these top 10's from Billboard are always so absurd in retrospect. "Closer" always felt more prevalent than "Don't Let Me Down," even at the time. one thing I like about Adele is that her music always feels like it's existed far longer than it actually has. "Hello" does not feel like it came out between 6 and 7 years ago, but it's also implacable. could've dropped yesterday, could've dropped in 2012; and it would've felt right regardless (without necessarily feeling of these times, of course).

I don't think Tyler Joseph is putting the point across that we shouldn't push through times of feeling stressed out but more expressing that feeling of wishing things could be simpler when we feel stressed out, which everyone can relate to. He has many other songs expressing feelings of pushing through tougher emotions (like suicidal thoughts). I get not liking the song but acting like twenty one pilots are trying to push a peter pan syndrome solution to this feeling is a bit stupid to say.

Even if the songs are super generic many of these songs were the soundtrack to a special part of my childhood especially the summer I can remember vividly hearing that Cant stop the feeling song at the pool

I've been saying to myself for song long that 2010-2013 was dark but upbeat and just full of bangers. Everything felt modern while the past hadn't let us wander forward. 2014-2017 felt so moody and washed out and disaffected to me as a kid. It was a peaceful time but another person would say that's boring. Everything just was. 2017-2019 felt like a possible Renaissance that brought new sounds new ideas but didn't go as far is could've.

Nah, man. Pop music was great in 2016, and lowkey had a renaissance at the time if you ask me. So many new artists that gained mainstream appeal that are a mainstay to this day. I never would have found those artists like Twenty One Pilots if they didn't release the bangers that blew them up that year. 2016 music will always hold a special place for me.

I graduated high school in 2016. Summer 16 will always remind me of Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, and MadeinTYO while playing Pokemon GO. It was a hell of a time to be alive and party!

Hella suprised the weeknd wasn’t there at all, at least for me the only songs I heard on the radio in 2016 were star boy and I feel it coming with hello and hotline bling coming up every now and then

I was actually hype for this bc 2016 was probably my fav year of music releases ever. Idk how I expected that to be reflected in the top 10 now tho. Was expecting "Into You" to be up there for some reason and it blew my mind to look it up and see it was only 51st
