Fun fact about believer: when the song first dropped, Imagine Dragons partnered with Adobe to make a 'music video editing' contest, releasing a ton of footage to be edited to the beat of the song. Now, a fuck ton of TV production classes use that package of footage to teach students about editing basics, a lot of TV prod students will have PTSD when they hear those opening drums

Despacito was really everywhere. I was traveling a lot that year (work stuff) around Europe and in every fu… country it was played on repeat. Like 4-5 times per hour. I also confirm this. I'm from latin america so I knew Luís Fonsi since the nineties as a low tier balladist and that's it. I was in Japan in 2017 when the song exploded and when I was eating at a ramen shop it started to play, and I was like "what the fuck? Luís Fonsi on japanese radio singing a reggetón song?", then the song was absolutely everywhere I was traveling around the country. As someone that spanish is his native language it was kind of surreal.
