Do all ATV reviewers live near a desert? I am tired of seeing this thing on sand dunes, I don't live remotely close to any. Lets see it on a trail.

I live in Michigan actually and prefer to ride through the woods, but we had one day to ride the YXZ in a place Yamaha chose. It clearly is at home in the desert though.

I saw a yellow one at the local dealer with the yellow paint chipped off the rear arms and the metal underneath was already rusting..... and this thing is still on the dealer lot brand new. Even the one in your video is already scratched up back there.

You think that's bad, I went to look at a new f150 and the suspension as well as the rear diff were unpainted and completely rusted. Every single f150 on the lot was like that.

but the real question is......is it better than the rzr 1000?

That's going to depend on where and how you ride. It feels very nimble, but it wants to run and rev, which is not always easy to do in the woods. It might not be the easiest to putt along on a casual trail ride. The fit and finish though is excellent.

+EMOROCKERZX Honda is very careful in anything they do, but they are also getting very active in this market again. Within the last two years they have released several new ATVs, the Pioneer 700, the Pioneer 500, and now the Pioneer 1000. Some parts of each were designed as a test bed for new technology, and a new engine. Both the paddle shifting with the tri-mode DCT transmission, and the 1000 engine are new for them. They have also promised more Side x Sides to come, but the high-performance sport model will likely be last. The reason is, they need to go where the lions share of sales are first, and that is in the working / recreational segments. That's why they did the Pioneer 700 and 1000 first. A sport model is coming though, and now that the others are out, it's probably not far off.
