2017 - 2024 Chevy Malibu - How to Unlock & Start With A Dead Broken Remote Key Fob Battery Chevrolet

A video tutorial on how to unlock, open and start a 2017 - 2024 Chevy Malibu that has a dead key battery or a remote key fob that isn't working. There is an emergency key located in the bottom of your Chevrolet Malibu remote key fob. You will remove the key from the remote key fob and use it in key cylinder located on the Chevy Malibu driver's door. Then you will need to start your Chevrolet Malibu by placing the remote key fob in the transmitter pocket in the center console.

So we thought we had just a bad battery so replaced it. So my husband watched some video and then started trying to unlock the key cylnder 5 times to reprogram the fob, then he was inside the car for awhile. Apparently i messed up whatever he was doing by coming along and opening the passsemger door during this. He gave up out of frustration that I had opened the door and messed up what he was doing. Now I can start my car with the key in the transmitter slot but my dash says the anti-theft device is activated. There is an icon of a lock on the dash. I only have one key to this vehicle. Do you know what I need to do next?

Does it matter what way the key goes in? I accidentally washed my key. It worked the first time I tried it so I drove it to autozone to see if they could help me, and now when I tried again it wouldn’t work.

This the most insanely stupid design I have ever seen. Not only is it impossible to find the door lock without instructions. But I just probably woke up the neighborhood. I then I gotta dig through the center console. Whoever designed this should be fired!!!
