I been waiting for a thorough review, thanks. I want this Alfa Romeo sooo bad. In black too. I have a 06 STi that was designed by ex Alfa designer and it's obvious and this car would go perfect with my white STi. Way more performance without the tuning nightmares I deal with and still 4 doors and a rapid auto trans for my hooning. I last checked 2 weeks ago Alfa's website and I still couldn't build the car yet to give me a price idea. So thanks for including the price. The interior CF PC's are just gimmicky and show scratches and dust like piano black trim on interiors. I want to configure a black one with red leather to see if the door cards inside can be kept non painted red, just black inside door cards with red leather seats and black dash. I have to wait and see. That front active splitter is just sick. And 191mph top speed without removing limiter is crazy. Hoping some great sounding aftermarket exhaust come on market and not raspy ones. this car deserves to be a SCREAMER like a Lamborghini or LFA like....high pitched aural pleasure. lol
@MilesPerHr8 жыл бұрын
Glad this was helpful. Very jealous of your STi
@neverendingmods8 жыл бұрын
MilesPerHr Thanks, but it's just collecting dust in garage now. Been looking for next sports sedan a lot less conspicuous as I am much older than I was back in 2006 when I bought the Subaru. Even then, I was annoyed by the attention the car got by police who target cars that are loud and stand out at night. I considered caddy cts-v but heard some quality concerns still aflict the newest generation which jumped in price.
@MilesPerHr8 жыл бұрын
I totally understand. I had a GTI and even that drew some unwanted attention. The Alfa might be right up your alley then, especially in black.

@dragoneroscuro8 жыл бұрын
Romeo is not only a thespian Shakespearean character but also represents part of an Italian mechanical deity, devoted to constructing automobiles at godly standards for mortal drivers. It is the Alfa without the Omega for ever since it began producing cars back in 1910, never has its activity been threatened by permanent halting. The Alfa Romeo coat of arms looks like it bears the marks of early religious involvement with a red cross on a white background reminding of the crusades juxtaposed with a dragon headed snake that resembles the devilish creature slain by Saint George but it was actually designed by human heads with only one purpose in mind: devotion and performance (autoevolution)

The reason why the paddle shifters are on the steering column is simple: when you steer you know always where they are (with the common solution when you are turning the steering and you need to shift gear it's not so easy to remember/understand where is the paddle you need). C'mon man in addition they are big and in aluminum in other words stunning! Furthermore no other sedans in its category have this feature.
@sic22l8 жыл бұрын
5:37 So you like when the right paddle is on the left? It makes no sense.

"paddles on the wheels", are you crazy? Then, they're never on the same place! I drove this same car this weekend and it's BRILLIANT! …perhaps I would have liked the levers (behind the paddles) a bit longer and not aligned w/ the paddles, but that's immaterial, really… :)
@davidebonannini6408 жыл бұрын
The point is, if all of your right hand is so far from the right paddle it can't easily reach it, it simply means that's too soon for upshifting. Driver's not supposed to shift with his little finger that's for sure. I bet you figured it out by yourself when you drove it. All Ferraris also have the paddles attached to the column and no complaints at all, for the same reason.

@SurelyYewJest8 жыл бұрын
That's the open question. It will probably be better than most Italian cars from the last 20 years. But that's not saying much. The issues with Alfa Romeo repairs will be where they need to be serviced, which I would assume will have to be at Fiat or Maserati dealers, of which there are many fewer than there are Chrysler showrooms out there. So if you want one, be close to a Maserati dealer. Luckily Maseratis are pretty common now, so a market for used Italian car parts is available whereas it really wasn't the last 2-3 decades.
@michaellui748 жыл бұрын
SurelyYewJest thanks for your. I wonder if this alfa can be kept long term?? if you only drive once every weekend . worry about the maintenance cost and reliability??
@CSI7608 жыл бұрын
Is it too soon to ask about reliability? Is it going to be in the shop all the time? I'd love to buy one, but don't want to spend my entire paycheck on brakes, oil change, or misc parts.

Well you would spend money on normal wear parts like brakes and oil with any car. But the Alfa has a 48 months/50,000miles warranty that will cover everything else.

First i was surprise by the US comment on the price of the car and then i had to compare and i finaly understood. Here in europe the "magic" Alfa is the same price or cheaper(most of the time)than the M3/M4/AMG/S5.....but in the US Bmw/Mercedes/Audi are cheaper than in europe(which is strange cause they're european cars)the Alfa Romeo is exactly the same price in US/Europe...cant explain why the others are cheaper,because of the taxes and the cheap US Cars i suppose! And btw you didnt say in the review that you can gear up stayin FLAT on the throttle,and in the race mode it's a 6gear not 8.
@SergiuszRoszczyk8 жыл бұрын
Automatic is 8 gear. Manual is 6 gear. In manual (EU version) you can downshift and it will handle RPM match for you.

You didn't mention much details on the seat, how comfortable are they? Have you sat in the Standard Seats?
@MilesPerHr8 жыл бұрын
Very comfortable - I've sat in the standard seats as well, and while those are adequate, they lack the lateral support of these optional carbon fiber ones.
@ShahirAshraf8 жыл бұрын
If you were ordering a Quadrifoglio, which seats would you choose? I'm having a hard time decide. Also how would the carbon seats feel on long distance trips? I'm 5' 9" and 125lbs
@MilesPerHr8 жыл бұрын
It depends if you plan on taking the car to the track - and how often. I'd say if you are thinking about long distance and daily driving comfort, the standard seats are going to suit you better (and they're obviously cheaper).

Some slight misinformation in this review. The 'Quadrifoglio Verde' was first used in 1923 on an Alfa Romeo RL Targa Florio. This was painted on the hood of the car by a superstitious race car driver Ugo Sivocci to give him good luck. With the 'Quadrifoglio Verde' painted on the car he won the next race. Tragically he died a few weeks later on another Alfa Romeo without the 'Quadrifoglio Verde' painted on the car.

that's because it's not Ferrari. Nothing in this car is designed or made by Ferrari. It is a good car, no doubt. The power and speed of these cars is addictive. But... where would you going to utilize it all in the US? Most if not all people who'll buy it won't take it to a racetrack. On the public roads, speed limits are diminished, passing zones are limited, and slow drivers always in front, and caps with radars hiding in the bushes... I don't know where to enjoy this car here. It is a good idea for these long shifters placed on a steering column. Unlike race cars, passenger's cars have long turning circle requiring to move hands around the steering wheel so it's easy to loose the track of which shifter is which if having them on the wheel itself.
