2017 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTS First Drive Review

These are in short supply because there are only one hundred 2017 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTSs available for North America and if you want one, you’d better place your order soon.
At $138,000 US, it’s priced squarely among some formidable competition, however, a Vantage is a far more interesting choice than something a common 911 or the crude design of an R8. It’s gorgeous - duh - both inside and out, and the AMI three interface is modernized to include Apple Car Play. Brilliant.
If you’re paying attention, you’ll notice the plentiful STANDARD carbon fibre both inside and out.
Of course, you could option your GTS with the Sportshift Two seven speed automated manual, but don’t do that. Get the manual.
Don’t forget the V8 Vantage GTS is practical, as well. It’s a hatchback.

Another nice Aston video, thanks. My dealer just told me in Mar will be invited to see brand new Vantage to order ahead of Geneva launch. Very excited, the Vantage is the ultimate gentlemans sports car with plenty of power for the road, amazing soundtrack and simply wonderful handling & balance. Hope they bring that through to the next generation.

The AMG GT sounds pretty badass as is, so i think the aston tuned version of that engine in the next vantage will sound pretty epic. Handling and balance will always be a hallmark of an Aston. The timeline your dealer give you meets the timeline I predict for this product.

If I had to choose today, 911 GT3. If I could wait till fall 2017 I would likely go with the new Vantage.

Fantastic reviews on your channel, subbed asap! I would appreciate your opinion on your experience of this V8 Vantage vs the manual F type V6 S in terms of: 1. Technical ability (handling, responsiveness etc) 2. General comfort + interior feel 3. Pure emotion I would assume that the Vantage being the older car is more raw and analogue, whereas the F type is a little sharper handling and easier to live with? I've always been a 'handling' (ie. miata, 911, cayman) type of guy but the V8 Vantage has really put emotion high up on my list and is now one of my all time favourites. It's not a HP or lap time king but as a whole it is such a balanced package. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your comments. The Vantage is still the sharper car. The F Type has a more modern interior and creature comforts in general, but the latest Vantage uses the more modern Aston dash that originated with the Vanquish. The Vantage is brilliantly handmade where the F Type feels manufactured. You're right, though, the Vantage is a very rewarding, complete package.

3 year unlimited mileage, as do all new Aston Martins. Extended warranties (such as Doug Demuro's) available for up to the car's 10th year.

It's 2016 man, 0-60 is the most overrated acceleration test there is..that being said, if it had an auto trans it would hit 60 in around 3.7..I for one couldn't care less about that. It's all about that pure driving experience

The new 2018/2019 Vantage will have a beautiful exterior and a superb drive, but I don't have much confidence on their new dashboard. A.M. has a recent history of producing dashboards looking like a kids video game and lacking mechanical/monitor display drawing gauges. I truly do believe that the latest A.M. cars DB-11 and the Vanquish ... have stupid and ugly horizontal bar and LED round gauges.. These latest dashboards they force us to accept, are for 50k cars not 200k cars. A.M. should include as an option a secondary monitor in the center of the dash and closer to the windshield. This monitor should display Round Gauges .... I would like to see gauges like .... exterior temperature ... water temp ... engine oil temp ... transmission oil temp .... exhaust temp ... water pressure ... oil pressure .... fuel/air ratio gauge .... turbo boost gauge ... voltmeter gauge ... fuel. If you want to succeed and beat your opponent, you must do the difficult.

sure this car is amazing brand new with a full warranty , but the true quality test comes after 5,10,15 , 20 years of ownership , if spend 6 figures on your dream car and u start getting simple problems like window motors going bad etc... u will be pissed off
