There's such a nice resonance to that exhaust at like 5000 RPM and above. And I love that the entire center stack is just carbon fiber. As Joe Raiti would say, "Someone spilled a bucket of carbon fiber on it." I keep thinking more and more GT cars are what I really like because I just like to drive places. Something like this that eats up the highway miles but is fun to drive would be such a joy to own.

@@TedwardDrives I can feel that. Throttle mapping is one important thing and when it's not done well, it really takes away some of the joy of the experience. Fortunately in the end it can be adjusted with an ecu reflash. I just got a V8 Vantage S Manual and am really enjoying the car. But I find it really difficult to get it off the line smoothly. I’m a very experienced manual car driver and don’t have this problem with my other cars (e.g. E92 M3). Could you provide some tips? What techniques do you use? Thank you!
@TedwardDrives3 жыл бұрын
You're not wrong. Manual Astons of this generation are tricky to drive and can make you question your skills. Getting off the line is a gentle balance of slipping the clutch and patience. Up shifts also require you to pull out of the throttle about a half a beat before you normally would before clutching in and going for the shift. Otherwise the revs will spike. I think the throttle mapping of these cars were just a little unfinished so be patient with inputs rather than slamming them like the M3.
@925vincent3 жыл бұрын
@@TedwardDrives Thanks very much for your reply! I did start to question my driving skills after a few jerky launch. What often happens to me is that just after the car starts to roll and you fully release the clutch pedal and come back a little on the throttle, the car cuts power at that very moment and the rev suddenly drops, which results in a near-stall situation (and jumpy ride). So what I do now is keep throttle input the same, or even guadually increase it through out the pulling-off sequence, which mitigates the problem but is completely against my driving habit. Also, I think the first gear is too tall for city driving. It's good for open road - it makes the car getting off the line more quickly and it's ages before you need the 2nd gear (unlike the M3, in which you will use up 1st gear pretty quickly). But in city slow traffic it's a nightmare because you are constantly in the transition period and burning the clutch! So now in city driving I just release the clutch very slowly and give it a tiny a bit of throttle to crawl forward. You are right - the car requires more patience and finesse than the M3!
