noticed the tires up close are 275 /40 19's... my gosh... no wonder there's road noise. Iirc, the M-sport version of a couple years back didn't have such wide and low profile tires--instead had 45 series. Also, that body looks like M-sport line even though the X-line logos/imprints are on the seats.

The old one is a way better deal, you get as new used cars very low priced. The new one isnt that much «better» because BMW is now marketing full on the new x5 the new audi killer:) Warrning forget the the 20 do get the 30 with ad suspension and auto trans!

Because the F25 platform has been iterated over for 8 years. Buyers of the 2018 will be the "lab rats" for the refinement of the new G01 platform, and B58 engine, and other new bugs in the next few years...

Heck better than Audi and Merc Heck beats the Nissan. Beats em all. More pretty too the BMW X3 2016/17 it’s nicer than the new 2018 style. New 2018 has some nice interior lights and nice leather. Still the X3 2016/17 stacks up Aces ✅✅✅✅✅

I bought a Dealer Certified pre owned with bit over 20k '17 X3 a few years ago. Later after getting a flat tire code and see no flat and take to my tire guy only to find "no spare...sorry"...so you have to buy the hi dolla flat free replacements. I bought normal tires anyway and saved money...but have to live with NO SPARE. :-(

The old X3 didn't come with petrol engines in the UK, only diesel. This is a UK review. The new x3 comes with petrol engines in the UK.

My experience: Bought a 2007 X3 2.0d (M47 150 ps) at 50.000 km at the BMW Dealer, at german market prices (not a discounted trashcan). 70.000 km - clutch plate was gone - entire clutch kit replaced 80.000 km - turbo failure - replaced turbo 100.000 km - transfer case failure - replaced transfer case 120.000 km - guess what - timing chain failure will never touch bmw again.

Jeep? Really? I know the Jeeps are just as 'urban' and guilty as being 'Yummy Mummy cruisers' as BMW, Audi and Land Rover. I don't think any of the Jeep line up sees more green lanes or mud than any other SUVs . You're right that the term 'SUV is a play on words; its clever marketing ploy that denotes an ability to cross any mountain and ford any stream but in reality all of these cars including Jeeps, they are all bought by people who (99.5% of the time) like a commanding driving position and space for Tommy, Shanice and baby Fudd, and the ability to store all their crap on a big shopping trip. No one buys a £35k+ car to spank it round a off-road track, are you mad! I mean just google 'Off-roading in' and choose any country you lie and you will not see a car that orginally cost more than £20k, for good reason what you will see are Land Rover Defenders Mercedes G-Wagens and Toyota Land Cruisers also some old Jeep Wranglers but no Evokes, No Grand Cherokees, no Q7...why because they are all too namby and not built for it anymore , sure they can do it if called to the same way that Kim Kardashian could compete in a Marathon but that's not want she known or made for. If you look at the advertising for these cars they all seem to allude to 'hardcore off-roading' but they are always, hill adjacent, the roads they are pictured on peculiarly...flat, why is that? Is it because the manaufactures know that its more of the ideal than the reality? maybe. Now I will agree that BMWs, Audis, Volvo, Mercs and Range Rovers (don't get me started about how they have sold their soul to the glittery thong of celebrity whoredom) have turned their attentions to the 'Yummy Mummy Cruiser' market but that is only because of people like you, me and Mr and Mrs Johnny-snots have forced their hands. Take range Rover their truest of-roader has stopped being built because no one was buying it, Nissan hardly heralds the new Patrol anymore cause no mucker wants one, Toyota (who by the by make the best off-roader there is) never gives a big stink about the Hilux or Land Cruiser because yup the are not pretty and no one is interested, so they push the Rav or whatever crossover everyone wets their collective knickers over. But all of these manufactures know (including Jeep) that men and women boys and girls will buy their cars based not if it can go over a bumpy track but more if it can make them look safe on the road. Most SUVs will not see the kind of dirt or track whereby the going gets sticky.
