Excellent video, but did I hear you say I think it has over 600 HP? Not without NOS, a supercharger, or a lot of bolt-on mods. Stock, the C7 Stingray is rated at 455 HP / 460 LB-FT... With the optional NPP exhaust, power is bumped up to 460 HP / 465 LB-FT. The pound per horsepower advantage of the Corvette over those more powerful Challenger 392's, GT350's & Camaro ZL1's is a much lighter 3,440 LB curb weight and better aerodynamics.

On this year/model, the HP is 455. The ZR1 had 650. Also, it would be important for sales to know just how the options on a car will delete other equipment. For example, this manual shift model has a 3:42 rear axle gear. If you choose the 8 speed automatic, that gear is deleted and you get a 2:73 or a 2:41 depending on other equipment. For a buyer to NOT know this will happen when selecting the automatic trans, is to some degree rather offensive. Most buyers looking to custom order their Corvette would have a fit when it gets delivered and the 3:42 gears were deleted. This should be disclosed when selecting the optional automatic just the same as adding an option and the disclosures say "must add this and that" to get the option. So, if you want an automatic and the 3:42 positraction axle, you can't get it. Most of this is related to emission standards more than it is an engineering marvel for the owner when they downgrade something when the customer is trying to upgrade it.

I also just didn’t go with the zo6 because this was my first vette so i wanted to start with a base model and in the future i’d like to upgrade to the ZR1 as that’s my all time favorite. The 2017 base is absolutely beautiful though, can’t stop looking at it every time i park or walk into the garage lmao

because its a Corvette and not a Camaro. The Camaro seems to be the vehicle that competes with the Mustang not the Corvette. To me a Corvette is more of a American Exotic type vehicle.

oh man, well I'm kind of liking the Corvette myself, but thats because I've always been around these cars since a kid. That GTR Nissan is sweet to. I guess you need to compare the two and see which one wins the challenge. If I could get my hands on a GTR I'd do a compare video for you, but I doubt that will happen since I never see any at the dealers I work with.
